Arguably, the greatest British sitcom of all time was set in Torquay!
Fawlty Towers was and remains Comedy Gold. 50 years ago the British public were introduced to Basil, Sybil, Manuel & Polly at the most chaotic hotel in Torquay!
This tour is a light-hearted trip down memory lane to reminisce and enjoy the story of Fawlty Towers. There are plenty of laugh-out-loud moments along the way and great photo opportunities.....but no Riff-Raff are permitted!

Graham, the distant cousin of Basil, gives a unique interactive tour of Torquay seafront with jokes so bad they’re funny and lots of facts about Torquay’s most famous fictional hotelier. Come prepared to act out some of the most famous scenes from the 12 original episodes .

Went to Torquay especially to do Fawlty Towers experience. Graham our guide didn't disappoint. He was engaging, informative, funny and really made it a fun experience to remember. He involved us in some re-enactments that were hilarious. Thoroughly recommend this tour if you get chance to do, especially if you’re a Fawlty Towers fan, which we were.

A fun experience, a great group on the tour. Enjoyed hearing the facts about party towers and toky from Graham. Me and my mum Thora would highly recommend doing tour.

Sold as a 90 minute experience, but the email you get the day before says 2 hours. Graham made it interesting but you walk around various parts of Torquay for no reason, nothing whatsoever to do with Fawlty Towers. It was OK but I wouldn't recommend it, or do it again

Graham was exceptional and very knowledgeable as our guide. He was engaging, funny and made all of us comfortable to be an extrovert or introvert. Hopefully Graham will succeed in bringing Fawltly Towers the recognitition it rightly deserves as a tourist attraction to Torquay

Absolutely Brilliant. It's the first time in my life that (you can't forecast the weather) I have walked in torrential rain and had a laugh. Graham, the guide is an absolute mine of information. Funny. Gets everyone involved. Trust me. You will Not be disappointed. Laugh your socks off.

The fact that this is a walking tour might suggest that you visit filming locations - not so, as none of Fawlty Towers was filmed in Torquay. The purpose of the walk seems just to be a way of breaking the presentation into manageable pieces, and that aspect works very well. Plus, a walk on the Torquay seafront is always pleasant. Our tour guide Graham was very personable and knowledgeable, and I learned quite a bit about the John Cleese/Connie Booth back-story and how Fawlty Towers was conceived. There are numerous opportunities to get involved as Graham has a sheaf of script-extracts so that memorable scenes can be re-enacted. I have to admit I grabbed the chance to “channel my inner Basil” but, if getting involved is not your thing, there is absolutely no pressure, just let others get on with it!
