On this 2.5-hour Street Food Tour, you’ll discover the real Ortigia—through its flavors, hidden corners, and local stories.

Vegetarian options available!

We’ll start like true locals: with a refreshing Sicilian iced coffee.

Then head to the oldest bakery in town to try what I believe is the best Arancino in Siracusa—made fresh every morning.

We’ll walk through quiet alleys, the fishermen’s square, and corners most visitors never reach.

At the market, you’ll taste capuliato, baked ricotta, pistachio salami, almond pastries, pistachio cream, and—depending on the season—Pachino tomatoes or prickly pears.

Then we’ll meet my extended family of cheesemakers and enjoy ricotta, mozzarella, and the best panino of your life.

We’ll finish with a fresh fruit granita from Ortigia’s most traditional gelateria.

See the island through local eyes. I'd love to share its flavors and stories with you.

I provide street food without alcoholic beverages. However, if desired, visitors can purchase beer or a glass of wine from the local market, but these options are not included in the food's price.

We will start from Archimedes Square, in front of the beautiful Diana Fountain, which represents the goddess of hunting and was considered the city's protector by the Greeks. From here, we will venture out to explore the island, seeking new flavors and aromas, immersing ourselves as locals rather than tourists.

We will then proceed along Via Roma, one of the most charming and beautiful streets on the island of Ortigia. We'll sample the coffee that us locals enjoy here. Naturally, as true Italians, we start the day with coffee. However, for those who don't drink it, there will be an alternative option available.

We really enjoyed our tour of Ortiga with Dario. He was just so fantastic and incredibly helpful. He took us to so many wonderful places to eat, but it was so fun to go outside the main areas to see the more local areas and markets. I can’t say enough good things about Dario. Highly recommend this tour and Dario as a guide.

We had a wonderful tour with Dario, he was so informative and generous with his time! The food we tasted was delicious and he managed to accommodate one of our group who had dietary issues. The sights we saw were delightful and seeing the authentic side of the city was a treat. Highly recommend - one of the best tours we have done! Thanks Dario!

What an amazingly fun experience, and our guide Dario was just AWESOME! His knowledge of the city and the food that represents Ortigia was out of this world. I’d highly recommend him and the tour!
