Experience the world's most haunted city on a ghost tour of Edinburgh and be spooked by one of the city's most infamous sons as they lead you around the dark side of the Old Town. Discover the hidden wynds (alleys) off the Royal Mile and hear some of Edinburgh’s horrifying secrets.
Then, visit what is regarded as the most haunted graveyard in the world at "Greyfriars Kirkyard." Finally, go deep underground and explore the Edinburgh Vaults beneath the streets. Completed in 1788, the series of chambers were used to house taverns and as storage space for illicit material, including the bodies of people killed by serial killers Burke and Hare for their medical experiments.
Journey through over 400 years of history and hear terrifying true tales of hangings, torture, murders and witchcraft. Shiver at the weird noises and unexplained smells that make an appearance after dark!

5.00I had a wonderful time with my sister and the tour guide was absolutely engaging. The walk in the grave was difficult just from how dark it was but nothing a good pair of boots can’t do. Our guide had excellent projection and vocal range in storytelling. It felt like we were in a play! The outfit although not his color, added more to the experience.

5.00Mary was amazing!! Her story telling and acting as the Queen really set the tone and scene of Edinburgh and its history. Totally recommend doing this tour, recommend it even more so as your tour guide to be Mary.

5.00This tour is one of my favorite things I did in Edinburgh. David Rizzio really made the tour. He was funny, entertaining, and provided an in depth dive into the dark history of Edinburgh.

2.00I was told to do this as it was “amazing” but I think I must of booked the wrong one! Guide spent the whole time asking everyone questions just to be rude and make fun. I understand it’s part of the character but it was taken too far and got old very quick. I literally learnt zero, group was too big. Basically paid money to be in a pitch black damp room?

5.00We loved our ghost tour! Fred was an awesome tour guide- he was really knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and was super funny as well! The sites were really neat and we learned a lot about Scotland’s darker past. Would definitely recommend and would love to go on another tour with Fred!

5.00We really enjoyed the World Famous Underground Tour. Our guide, Helen Duncan, was amazing – funny, engaging, and totally in character the whole time. She made us laugh a lot but also made sure we learned something new about Edinburgh’s history. Definitely worth doing!
