Grab your passport, and meet your local guide upon pickup from your San Ignacio hotel in the morning. Your tour begins with an approximate 1.5-hour drive to Tikal National Park, located in Guatemala. Aboard your comfortable coach you'll cross over the border hassle-free. The ruins of more than 3,000 palaces, temples, ceremonial platforms, ball courts, and plazas dot this UNESCO World Heritage Site that once served as a religious, social, and political hub for the Mayan people. Throughout your visit, your guide shares historical background on the ancient kingdom. Head to Complex Q and R, where you'll see twin pyramids with altars set in front of the temples. Visit the Central Acropolis, a maze of courtyards and smaller temples. Gaze in awe at the Great Plaza, and see the Temple of the Grand Jaguar, which was built to honor and bury King Moon Double Comb. Here, three rooms are located inside the 144-foot (44-meter) temple. Take in the sight of Temple IV (the Double Head Serpent), Tikal’s tallest structure at 212 feet (64 meters) high. The intriguing Temple II, commonly known as the Temple of the Masks, also sits in this part of the park near the Great Plaza. Enjoy a delicious lunch in Tikal National Park before you explore the ruins on your own. Afterward, your guide transports you back to Belize with drop-off at your hotel in San Ignacio.

5.00You can't take rental cars (Avis, at least) into Guatemala. It was nice to have the company handle all the logistics. The guide, Alfredo, was very knowledgeable and pleasant. We walked about 3 miles, and it was mostly shaded.

5.00This was awesome tour, fun adventures, better than expected, safe , easy, it was so perfect 👌. Once again tour company and operator really make it happen from pick up to delivery. Thank you guys I will keep using you guys and recommend. I come to Belize often to bring family and friends 🧡 to tour our little Belize. I also appreciate the constant communication before and after the tour is over.

5.00The tour started in San Ignacio our driver was very nice and walked us through the border and customs section in Belize. Prior to separating he pointed out our Guatemalan tour guide from a distance. Once through customs and border checks our Guatemalan guide Levi walked us through the same process on the Guatemala side. Once we arrived at Tikal Levi was very knowledgeable and his passion for the history of the site made the almost 6 mile walk with almost 71 flights of stairs seem less intense. The trip was amazing to see both uncovered and still yet covered historical structures. Our guide also walked us through the area where celebrations and cultural Matan events are still held to this day. The provided meal was phenomenal after so much walking.

5.00Loved this trip! Alfredo was a great guide and very knowledgeable about the ruins! Believe people who say it's a long day! Take water and snacks cause lunch is late and you are hiking up and down the ruins! Soooo worth it.
