(1) Please cover your legs and shoulders for the tour since we propose to visit two temples, one Hindu and one Jain. A scarf may be required for ladies while visiting the Jain temple. An extra pair of socks may come in handy.
(2) Please let us know which hotel or accommodation that you are staying in Bangalore. We may offer transport service from hotel to Walk venue and back.. This option is available for a small additional fee.
(3) After the Walk, if you need any information about what else to see in Bangalore or where to shop for silk or other souvenirs, please do not hesitate to take the assistance of the guide!

Tipu Sultan Fort and Palace - Bangalore KR Market
After meeting and greeting, the Govt. of India Approved and licensed guide shall accompany you and show Tipu Palace. Its a 230 year old palace, all in teak wood, and built in typical Islamic architecture, showing the diwas-e-am and diwan-e-khas. Also, a brief history of Tipu Sultan, his trysts with the French, the Anglo-Mysore wars, his contributions and controversies shall all be discussed. A visit to the Museum in the premises throws more light on how he came to be known as the Grandfather of Rocket Science in the whole world!
Kote Venkataramana Temple
This temple is adjoining the Tipu Palace. It was built in 1690 AD by Chikkadevaraja Wodeyar and showcases wonderful stone sculptures of Indian mythological characters on its walls. The highly carved and ornate stone columns inside the temple reflect high quality workmanship of our artists. Hindu devotees have to book months in advance to offer "Kalyanotsava" (marriage ceremony of Lord Vishnu with Lakshmi) in this temple. It is said that the Garuda Gamba of this temple saved Tipu Sultan from a cannon ball attack from Cornwallis which would have otherwise fell on his palace. The next stop is the Bangalore Fort which is a 10 minute walk from here.

5.00The tour was only 6 participants on the afternoon I booked. The guide, Vijay was extremely professional and expertly navigated the chaos of the Bangalore streets and markets. I saw a side of Bangalore that I would not have seen without this tour. He went above and beyond to make me feel safe as a young solo female traveler and he ensured everyone had a safe ride home at the end of the tour. Don’t forget to bring cash to tip your guide at the end!

5.00We were on a business trip and had one free day to explore, so we booked this tour as it did not take too much time (we had a flight in the evening). Our guide, Vasuki, was an absolute gem! He communicated fast and very clearly, was very knowledgeable and helpful. When we went to Koté Vishnu, we got to see two ceremonies, which is a good omen 😊 After the tour, Vasuki even took us to a lovely local silk shop with amazing prices and an even nicer staff. Would recommend this tour 100%, and I will be booking through Bangalore and Beyond again when I’m in the city! Thank you for the amazing experience!

5.00Vijay was a wonderful tour guide! He answered all our questions, took pictures and took us to get a delicious coffee. I really enjoyed visiting the temples and the market. I can’t imagine navigating that area without a guide or someone local and I’m so happy I got to experience them. Highly recommend this tour.

From visiting the palace, to the fort and visiting a the markets where you experience the local culture is fantastic.
