Japanese drumming(Taiko) is an experience like no other – powerful, exciting, and truly unforgettable!

This unique opportunity takes place in Tanashi Shrine, located in Nishitokyo City, where you can learn and perform Taiko with a group led by professional Taiko performers.

Standing in front of a massive drum, drumsticks in hand, you strike your first beat – BOOM! The sound reverberates through the air and shakes your entire body. That powerful sound will send shivers through your heart and soul!

The sound of taiko has a mysterious power. Each beat refreshes the body and mind, and before you know it, you are drenched in sweat! Still, you are sure to be filled with smiles and a sense of accomplishment!!!

I participated in a taiko drumming experience for the first time. Thanks to the staff's detailed guidance, I felt at ease and could fully enjoy it. Along the way, they taught me about posture, rhythm, and drumming techniques, making me feel like a true taiko master. I was also delighted to have memorable photos taken during the experience. I would love to join again next time!

We (a family of four) had a great time at the Taiko drumming workshop! The drums make a lovely sound & it was fun to learn the techniques and rhythms to play them. The instructor is a very talented player and clearly loves to share her passion for Taiko. Over the course of the workshop we learned to play one piece comprised of several different rhythms. We also enjoyed performances by the instructor. The workshop takes place in a spacious studio room in the Hoya Korembi Hall & it was good to check out a new area of the city. Our kids (7 and 6) loved it. Highly recommend if you are in Tokyo.
