5.00Our family of 4 did the Tokyo Meiji Shrine & Harajuku: Walk Through Japanese Culture, with Lakki from Sunrise Adventure on Friday, April 3, 2026. We had a wonderful experience with Lakki and highly recommend him! He was warm, friendly and very knowledgeable. Our tour was at 1PM. It was our first full day in Tokyo and our young kids were terribly jet lagged and exhausted. I wasn’t even sure we could make it to the tour. Lakki made the Meiji Shrine come alive for us. We enjoyed the most beautiful forest walk in and out. We learned so much about Japanese history. Lakki is very passionate about the history and made it fun for us. He walked us through the shrine activities and got our kids into it as well. I was pleasantly surprised that they were willing to participate. We felt so taken care of. In Harajuku he pointed out the stops our kids would enjoy and they loved them. He adjusted the order of things when we got hungry so we could get crepes and drinks. Harajuku is very busy but I felt relaxed because we were so well taken care of. Our kids were happy and engaged as were we. We ended the tour taking a selfie with Lakki for our memories.

5.00We had a wonderful time with Nico. We appreciated his knowledge of, and reverence for, the Japanese traditions, history, and culture, and his willingness to share these with us. The Meiji shrine experience was more meaningful because of his input. He also shared about the significance of the Harajuku area and provided lots of tips about sites to see in the area. Nico’s local knowledge and understanding of what it’s like to be a tourist added to our enjoyment of the day. Thanks, Nico!!

5.00This will allow you to immediately understand appreciate the duality of Japanese culture. Our guide Loki (pronounced “Lucky”) had the perfect temperament and knowledge to get our vacation off to the perfect start. His explanation of the shrines and kawii culture provided us with a platform to continue our journey was a great understanding.

5.00We had a wonderful time on the tour! Mika is knowledgeable and kind. Visiting the Meiji shrine was truly special, and such a contrast to the Harajuku neighborhood close by! It was fascinating to see Tokyo in this way, and with such a caring and helpful guide!

5.00I'm obsessed with this tour!! loved our guide Nicolas, he's so knowledgeable and answered all of our questions with ease. You can see chaotic shopping street like no where else. then suddenly huge shrine gate infront of your face and walking into the woods. Highly recommend if you want to experience both sides of Japan all at once.
