In this 8 hours private tour, you will explore the southwest of Mauritius including a visit to the Green Dormant Volcano named Trou Aux Cerfs which is a highly popular attraction. Next, you will stop at Mare Aux Vacoas reservoir.

Afterward, head to Maconde viewpoint to see the panoramic stunning view of the sea. Next, head to Twenty Three Colored Earth which is unique because of its multi-colored sand. Then continue to Chamouny waterfall which is undoubtedly the beautiful single-drop waterfall. Next, head to the Bois Cherri Tea Factory to learn about the production and plantation.

Later, you will enjoy a Mauritian 3-course lunch & head to Rhumerie De St Aubin to visit the rum distillery & rum making. Then, continue to Gorge Viewpoint to see the panoramic unparalleled beauty of the deep dense forest & its valley.

Afterward, head to Alexandra Fall to live a unique experience with nature & its waterfalls. Finally, stop at Grand Bassin to see the gigantic statue of Lord Shiva

What To Expect

Trou aux Cerfs

Begin your 7-8 hours southwest scenic tour with a hotel pick-up anywhere in Mauritius. You will meet & be greeted by our certified guide and after boarding to your comfortable vehicle, then set off for your first stop. You'll be heading to Trou Aux Cerfs which is one of the famous natural tourist attractions in Mauritius. The dormant volcanic crater is around 605 meters above sea level, with a diameter of 350 meters & a depth of around 100 meters. Unlike the typical volcanic features, Trou aux Cerfs’ crater is surrounded by a vast area of lush forest consisting of indigenous plant species and some giant green pine trees. It is believed that the Trou aux Cerfs erupted once and has remained dormant for the last 700 000 years; experts believe that there is a potential chance for it to become active again. Definitely, one of the main highlights is the 360-degree view of the town, Curepipe & the majestic view of Rempart Mountain, Trois Mamelles, and the Port-Louis- Moka mountain range.

Afterward, head to Mare Aux Vacoas reservoir which has the honor of being the largest reservoir on the island with a capacity of almost 26 million cubic meters and is simultaneously a rather popular stop for tourists visiting the south of the island. Although nothing as fancy as the other attractions in Mauritius, Mare aux Vacoas is a gem hidden between lines of thick forests. It is the perfect place to spend a relaxing few minutes away from the usual hustle and bustle of the country. The reservoir even offers a rather amazing view worth several clicks.

It has been an exceptional experience! Agi was extremely professional, friendly and polite to us, told us a lot of interesting facts and made our trip very entertaining. He was constantly watching and gave us very good recommendations. He actually rearranged the schedule so we could see all the places and have time to make the most of it. Super recommended to go with it always!!!!

Great day, had good coms from our driver and guide for the day, Sahil. He was a friendly and knowledgeable guide. The tour itself was great for us with this being our first time in mauritus. The parks were amazing. We we even lucky enough to see hundreds of fruit bats at our last waterfall in the evening. Our tour started at 0830 and we were back at out accommodation for around 1730. Highly recommend this tour.
Good driver but not a tour guide. Tea tasting below expectations and rum tasting cancelled due to elections.

Driver was very nice guy but was not a guide and brought us safely to each destination. He had limited English to explain various sights being visited. In short he was not a tour guide but a driver for the day. Unfortunately due to heavy rain we did not have an opportunity to visit the Grand Basin temple. Tea tasting was well below what we expected we were guided to a table given a choice of flavoured teabags in boxes and tepid water to make our own. No guide or explanation. Also due to elections the Rum tasting was not available and the colonial house was not open due to maintenance. None of these were the fault of the driver, however had we been informed in advance rum tasting was not going ahead and some sights were closed we would have chosen to delay or change the booking. This was easily predictable and should have been highlighted by viator well in advance. In retrospect the trip had too many stops and insufficient time at some to explore the area.

It was a great day with Anup as our guide. We saw the tea factory and we were taken to so many beautiful views across the island. The lunch was at a great restaurant by the beach and the rums were numerous. An excellent trip which I would highly recommend.
