• More Than Truffle Hunting: An Authentic Sicilian Experience

  This experience was the highlight of our two-week trip to Sicily. From the start, Angelo was communicative and flexible. His translator Kristin was lovely as well. After enjoying a small snack in town, we headed into the mountains. The dogs are adorable, clearly well cared for, and you can see they absolutely love their owner and their work. Angelo and Kristin were extremely friendly and talked to us about the intricacies of truffle hunting, dog training, the history of the region, and more. The time flew by. The region is beautiful, but be aware you'll be walking through the woods on unmarked trails. It can get quite muddy, and there are sharp brambles in some areas, so dress accordingly with sturdy shoes and appropriate clothing. We stopped at a breathtaking viewpoint overlooking the region, and then the second part of this amazing experience began. Due to worsening weather, we were taken to Angelo's home, where we met dozens of adorable animals and enjoyed an incredible spread of local cheeses, wines, pastries, and of course truffles—so hearty it was practically a meal. Angelo's mother Stella welcomed us with such warm hospitality that we felt right at home. We even kept the truffles we found and received instructions on how to best preserve them. This experience was above and beyond what we expected. We were blown away by Angelo, Stella, and Kristin's kindness, professionalism, and genuine love and enthusiasm for their animals, local products, and region. I'd recommend this to anyone who loves animals, nature, authentic experiences, and local food. It was wonderful from beginning to end!

  This tour was a highlight of our trip to Sicily! It was very unique and fun! The dogs were amazing in finding truffles and the stars of the show, and the owner had an amazing, friendly translator when needed! Both of them were fantastic! Very willing to share their culture with us, and the meal afterward was absolutely delicious. The dog owner made homemade cheeses with sausage, eggplant/tomato dish, his mother’s olive focaccia bread, honey from his bees, marmalade, and mandarin oranges from his uncle’s farm. We were stuffed and was a perfect ending to a perfect day! We will remember this trip for a lifetime! Thank you for making it very special for us!

• Hunting truffles in Sicilian mountains

  Last week we went on Truffle hunt with Angelo, Christine and of course the dogs - Lara, Pesca and Camilla. We feared that we will be the only ones who decided to do this right between Christmas and New Year, but there were 6 of us! The experience was wonderful, we found some bianchetto truffles even though it was the very start of the season. I dug one out myself (with some help from Pesca)! Angelo is a great tour guide and very passionate about the dogs and the nature in general. The walking part took us about three hours, and then we enjoyed a picnic with homemade Aubergine spread, cheeses from Angelo's farm, pastries made by his mother and other stuff. I would recommend dressing warmly if you decide to go in the winter and wear proper shoes. Apart from everything else, the forest and the views were stunning.

  Very sympathetic guide and translator. An authentic experience in nature. One notices the passion of Angelo and his dogs, who are very happy to do their “work”. The result of the search we enjoyed the next day. It was a lot of fun.

  Angelo and his dogs were great! We enjoyed the truffle hunt so much. We found five black truffles and had a nice picnic. The mountains were beautiful and it was such a unique and authentic experience.

  Angelo and his two lagotto, Pesca and Rambo, with help from Kristine translating, made this the hands down best experience we had in Sicily. Friendly, informative, fun, and exciting! We would recommend this to everyone. We felt like we were hanging out with our friends. The picnic provided at the end was lovely, with food from Angelo’s farm. Next time we are in Sicily, we will be back to hunt truffles with Angelo and the dogs! Thank you again for one of the most gorgeous experiences we have had. Side note, the dogs are very good at finding truffles!! We were sent away with a bag full!

  Angelo and his translator Christine were wonderful. They were very welcoming and knowledgeable about not only truffles but so many other things growing in the mountains of central Sicily!! We had a fantastic time and Angelo’s Dogs were very friendly and excited to do their job in finding truffles and we did find quite a few!!! I recommend him!!!

  I went truffle hunting with my mom yesterday, and we're absolutely blown away. We learned so much and had so much fun. Angelo and his sweet dogs led us to the right spots and explained a lot, while Christine was so kind to translate and also told us so many interesting things. They made this course so easy to enjoy. The hike was incredibly beautiful, a great route with stunning views. And then the truffle finds were an absolutely fantastic experience. It's so much fun to watch the dogs searching and to see Angelo leap over with impressive speed to collect the truffles. You can feel the passion with which Angelo explains the plants, mushrooms, and truffles and works with the dogs. You can sense just as much enthusiasm from Christine, who not only translates but also knows a lot and lets you share in it. The information about truffles, how to store and prepare them was very informative, as was the information about other mushrooms, the forest, and other plants. The friendly and personable company, the dogs, the truffle finds, and the incredibly delicious food that rounded off the entire experience were simply perfect. Thank you so much for that! We were also recommended a fantastic restaurant at the end. • Truffle hunting in the mountains!!!

  The location in the mountains was beautiful! Nice and cool during a summer morning. The dogs were amazing and were able to find truffles for us to retrieve. We learned a ton about where truffles grow and with a translator we learned about the local culture and lifestyle. The hiking was fun and so peaceful in the mountains.   Amazing tour! So unique and fun, we found so many truffles. Great tour guide, very knowledgeable. We want to come back for the white truffles
