Experience the best of the city with a local host on this combined walking and canal tour by Go Like a Local. Discover top sights, hidden gems & enjoy a 25-minute harbor ferry ride, ending with the Changing of the Guards at the royal palace.
We begin with a 1-hour walk before boarding the electric harbor ferry, a local way to enjoy a canal tour in Copenhagen. Your host shares stories, and insider tips as we glide through the city’s waterways.
After the ferry, we continue another hour on foot, passing the star-shaped 1600s fortress and the Little Mermaid. A short café stop offers time to rest and chat before reaching Amalienborg Palace.
The 9:00 & 09:30 AM tours finish with the full Changing of the Guards at noon.
Later departures include a smaller version of the ceremony.
If the ferry is full or out of service (rare, mostly weekends), we follow the scenic canal route on foot instead, covering the full itinerary with 2 extra km.

5.00Amalie and Morten were very knowledgeable, patient and a joy to be with. Lot's of anecdotes about living in Copenhagen. Beautiful architecture, very clean city . The tour ended with a hot chocolate and watching the changing of the guard.

5.00Amazing tour, hits everything you could want to see. Jacob is very knowledgeable and super friendly, we were very happy with him as our guide. We saw everything at a relaxed and comfortable pace, we never felt rushed at any point. We had a fantastic time on this tour, can’t recommend enough.

5.00Highly recommend walking and canal tour. Informative and nicely paved tour that made 3 hours fly just like that. Maybritt made it worth every minute with anecdotes and trivia that made it more relatable to Danish culture and view sites with better understanding of the context.

5.00Amazing trip. Even if it was not windy the guide was great and so many things to learn even as a local. I loved the history and the current events mixed in one tour. Had fun and I already recommended my friends. I’m gonna join their other tours too.

5.00Excellent walking tour covering all the sights of Copenhagen at a pleasant pace with knowledgeable guide Isabella. Nice group size of varying ages all catered for. Adapted tour with coolness and reassurance after boat cancelled at the last minute out of guides control! Would recommend for a memorable 3 hours finishing in good time to see the changing guards at the palace. Tour spirits not dampened by Nordic April chill!
