Traveling in a retro communist-era Żuk minibus adds historical context and allows access to districts often skipped by large tour groups. Rather than focusing only on landmarks, the tour connects places with powerful narratives—from the Jewish Ghetto and wartime uprisings to communist-era urban planning and modern-day Warsaw—giving you a fuller understanding of the city’s complex identity.

The minimum number of people required to launch the tour is 2. A solitary traveller may join the tour if there is another booking for at least 2 people.
This tour can be booked instantly online for adults and children over 150 cm (4 ft 9 in). If you wish to book the tour for a child under 150 cm, please contact the tour operator in advance to check the availability of seat boosters, which are mandatory under Polish law.
Each minibus accommodates up to 8 passengers, and a fleet of 5 minibuses is available.
The vehicles are used primarily for transfers between locations, with walking segments at each stop. Please wear comfortable clothing and suitable footwear.
Please note that classic vintage minibuses are not equipped with air conditioning, and some do not have seat belts (which is permitted for historic vehicles). All vehicles are equipped with heating for the winter season.

Following hotel pickup, meet your guide and begin with a brief introduction to Warsaw and Poland. This short historical overview provides essential context and helps explain how past events shaped the city you see today.
The first major stop is Muranów, a district built on the former site of the Jewish Ghetto established by Nazi Germany in 1940. Although it may look like an ordinary postwar housing area, the ground beneath tells a far more dramatic story. With your guide, you’ll uncover the traces of the ghetto and learn how the district was destroyed and later reconstructed.

5.00Conrad was very kind and patient. He spent time answering our questions about the history and timeline of the Jewish ghetto. I also appreciate his perspective about the advatages and disadvantages of developing versus restoring historic sites. Of all my many tours over the past ten days, Conrad’s was the most thorough and thought provoking.

5.00It was a very entertaining tour. Driving through Warsaw in the Zuk (old car) was a real experience; enjoyed it very much. Our guide, Konrad, showed us some great parts of Warsaw that we wouldn't have found ourselves. He gave us so much information about the city and even catered to our individual needs. I highly recommend this tour.

5.00Warsaw Behind the Scenes is a very apt title for this tour. Our guide Marcin used the architecture of old town Warsaw and even the rubble of the ghetto as a timeline for the historical events of the city. Instead of just a recitation of names and dates, Marcin explained WHY these events occurred, a story more pragmatic and realistic than romanticized accounts. He also used an album of archival photographs from recent times that helped make history more immediate for us today. Marcin obviously loves his city and wants to tell its story to others so that it can continue to endure in peace.
