We often learn the history and stories of heroes of the American Revolution and the early history of America. What isn't often covered in history classes and history books is the story of African Americans who were enslaved during this time. On this unique tour, we'll discover the stories of African Americans who lived and worked in Colonial Williamsburg. From the slaves buried in the graveyard of the Historic First Baptist Church, to the woman who left property to her freed black servants, you'll uncover the untold stories of the oppressed, and their path to freedom.

Our tour guide William was so knowledgeable and engaging. He even told us about areas that were not in our immediate view. I highly recommend this tour. My only regret is that the Bray school was closed to the public.

Vic did an exceptional job and was very considerate for my friend who was using a cane. He located benches for her to sit down to rest as he gave his presentation. He was very knowledgeable about history as it relates to enslaved Americans.

Vince is AMAZING! We didn't know what to expect since it was raining all day but I'm so glad that we kept our tour. We walked at the perfect pace and learned so much. The tour was specifically educational in the way it was truthful regarding the atrocities of colonial slavery but entertaining and inspiring in regards to the pursuit of freedom, education and pondering spirit of the enslaved. This tour is crucial for the complete Colonial Williamsburg experience.
