The historic Salt Mine is located about 10 km from Krakow and is on the first UNESCO World Heritage List (1978). The current mine was established ad the turn off 18 and 19 century (though mining history reaches antiquity here). The tourist route goes through the most interesting places in the mine that consists of 22 chambers which are connected by salt pathways of lenght about 3 km. Chambers are located at depth 64 to 135 meters underground.

Wieliczka Salt Mine
Wieliczka salt mine from the 13th century to 1772 was part of the Cracow Saltworks. The salt extracted in the mine is date back to the Miocene period. In 1976 mine was listed at the Polish national registry of monuments, and then in 1978 it was registered on the UNESCO list. The mine is a place visited by big numbers of tourists from Poland and abroad.

5.00Was told to meet greg at pick up point. Met a great guy whi was veey welcomming and knowledgeable about krakow. All in all a great tour of the Salt mines.

5.00Greg provided our transfer to the salt mine and was accommodating from the get go. We misunderstood the pick up point and he contacted us straight away and came to us to avoid any delay to the other passenger. Leaving Krakow Greg provided lots of useful information which helped us book Schindlers factory also. We plan to go back and visit more next time! Courteous driver who accommodated a very anxious passenger. Great service provided and interacted with all passengers so everyone benefited. Would highly recommend!

5.00We used this company for all our tours while in Poland. Greg our driver was absolutely amazing. After booking our trip he reached out to us over what’s app to connect before our arrival to ensure everything was arranged perfectly. He made some great suggestions about the best time of day to complete our tours, and arranged private transport to the salt mines. He gave us suggestions for dinner spots around krakow and some great tour suggestions that we had yet to book. A great driver, who spoke perfect English and was very knowledgeable about the area, the history and all that krakow has to offer. We would recommend this company to anyone, and would use his services if we come back. Ask for Greg!

5.00We visited the salt mines first thing in the morning after taking advice from Greg, our trip organiser. He collected us from our hotel, arranged the tickets and was waiting for us when we had finished. There were a lot of steps down, but you got breaks in between so it was manageable if you are older (like me)! A really enjoyable tour with a guide that explained each of the exhibitions fully. The underground church was amazing! You get a lift back to the surface and there is a lovely cafe and gift shop on site. I would highly recommend using Greg for the trip as his knowledge of the city is brilliant and he made sure that everything went smoothly for us. I wish I would have booked all of my trips with him!
