We then will show you how to bind everything together and create your custom broom for your altar or wall hanging as a souvenir from Salem.

Gather Witches and Warlocks! Come create a unique witches broom for your home or your altar. We walk you through designing and decorating your own custom witchcraft souvenir broom to bring a little bit of magic of Salem to bring home with you. We offer unique colors and design accessories to customize your own broom including trinkets and charms, colorful ribbons and colorful broomcorn. We teach you how to masterfully wrap your broom, attach various charms and earthly elements for protection, or to ward off evil, or propagating good luck and good fortune, and to repel spells from others if need be. Our knowledgeable local Salem instructors will help you every step of the way. So come with an open heart, a little creativity, and we’ll help you create a fun memorable witchcraft souvenir from Salem. Please Note: Our workshop location is not at the Retail Store location on Essex Street

5.00What a lovely time. I chose this because it felt like a very witch-y activity to build a broom while in Salem. My partner doesn't tend to do crafts, but he enjoyed this experience. You start by picking out a short, medium or long handle (high quality wood), then your colors for your rods, plant accents, feathers, charms (several trays worth to choose from), ribbons...and there's a guide on what the different colors mean. Our guide, Kara, was excellent -- she provided clear instructions and demonstrations, and was totally happy to assist/re-demonstrate. She managed the flow of the process well. I think this took about 90 minutes? I saw more broom making opportunities once we got to Salem, but I did not compare pricing; the others I saw also seemed to be the shorter broom handles or just the head. What else...the meeting point is not the actual office space--it's out in the square down the block. So, the meeting pt address is correct, it's just confusing because you're not going into a building. (We passed Kara holding a broom while looking for the space lol, we should've known) The cord you use has a wax coating, and they even offer gloves--I appreciated the awareness of potential sensory issues. And there's a chair Channing Tatum sat in--that you can sit in, too!
