Wonderful Orangutan sumtera is the options get a wonderful and unforgettable experience in the jungle with a local compny. During this two-day trek, you will get a truly unforgettable jungle adventure with our local guides who are certified and professional English-speaking. You go deep into the National Park and will have many opportunities to see orangutans and other wildlife close to their natural habitat. You will stay overnight in a campsite near by river or waterfall in the Gunung Leuser National Park. On the last day, hike even deeper into the forest, the deeper parts of the rainforest you have a higher chance of spotting different species of birds as well like the great argus rhinoceros hornbill, etc., before tubing the Bohorok River back to Bukit Lawang.

This adventurous overnight trek in Gunung Leuser National Park is the most popular option to discover and experience the tropical rainforest of North Sumatra. We will start our activity at 9:00 am. During this two-day trek, you go into the jungle, with great chances of seeing 8 species of monkeys that are hiding in the Gunung Leuser National Park: the Sumatran Orangutan, the Long Tail Macaques, the Pig Tail Macaques, the Thomas Leaf Monkeys, the Silver Leaf Monkeys but also the rarer to see White-handed Gibbons, Siamangs and Slow Loris and other animal up-close in their natural habitat, hike to a campsite by a river, then swim, eat dinner, playing some game in your campsite. On the second day after enjoying your breakfast in the jungle, you will go deeper into the jungle to explore more about our flora and fauna, you will even enjoy some fun traditional rafting back to Bukit Lawang with a wonderfull jugle view.

5.00Gao was phenomenal at getting my trip booked and easily included transportation from and to Medan, as well as hotel nights. She responded almost immediately each time. Do you ever sleep?! The trek itself was a grunt for me- mostly because I’m not used to heat and humidity. It was worth every step to see the orangutans, monkeys, hornbills, and lizards. The food was wonderful and plentiful. The guide, Dadi, was so patient and made sure I was comfortable and could see the wildlife. The camp was a delight - I especially enjoyed showering under a waterfall. The trip back to Bukit Lawang was on tubes on the river - the jungle taxi! I highly recommend this for anyone wanting some jungle adventure in Sumatra!

5.00It was an incredible trip that I did together with my boyfriend and that I would recommend everyone to do. The company “Wonderful Orangutan Sumatra” had arranged everything so nicely, from pick-up in Medan to the whole hike in the jungle. We got to see everything from Thomas Leaf Monkey (aka David Beckham) to Orangutans and Hornbills, and not least the amazingly beautiful nature. The rafting at the end of the hike was slightly out of the ordinary, incredibly fun and very beautiful views. The food and company was incredible. I want to say an extra big thank you to our guides Bim, Eka and Arip who made the trip unforgettable and I will not forget our dinner together at the camp.

5.00I was recommended this company by a friend of mine, I took his word for it and honestly it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. And I really mean that. Everything from the animals, to the guides, the nature - I have nothing to complain about. Simply 10/10 Our guides Bim, Eka, and Arip were all amazing, easy to be around, to both be able to laugh and feel safe with the guides made all the difference! For anyone who’s interested in nature, animals (of course the orangutans), I would 100% go. Worth every penny.

5.00Saw the reviews and decided to book with Wonderful Orangutan Sumatra (local owned). Process was smooth and pleasant, from pick up at KNO airport to arrival at the shop, lastly to the transport out of bukit lawang. Greeted by Ms Geo, and she explained the tour outline in detailed and ensured to clear any doubt I had. The room that was assigned to me was excellent, just above the office. My guide was, Mr Nangnang, he is very cheerful and patient during the trek! Was lucky to spot 3 orangutans, 1.5hours into the trek and had the best river taxi back! Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience Bukit Lawang! Thank you once again, Geo and team!

5.00I had an amazing time during this jungle trekking tour. We saw a variety of apes (including the male orangutan!!) and monkeys, had epic views and ate amazing food. Sleeping in the middle of rainforest after some games and good stories is an unforgettable experience. The water rafting was another highlight at the end - so much fun! Bim Bim, Suria, Riski, Rahim and Sukier were the best, so warm hearted, funny and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend for people who seek an adventure you'll not get anywhere else!

5.00We had a fantastic experience in the jungle! Our guides were very experienced. We saw several orangutans, many different monkeys, birds and other fauna. The team made sure we were safe on the steep tracks. The food they provide during the trip is of an incredible level. We highly recommend!

5.00My partner and l had a wonderful time during our jungle trek with Nang Nang and also making the reservations and plans from the UK with Geo. Everything was super clear and expertly arranged and could not have been better, truly faultless. Geo helped even with things that were not part of the trek! We could take our time to see many different animals and enjoy the nature. There were plenty if rest stops with delicious food and we felt very relaxed during the whole trek. Nang Nang was our guide and he provided laughter the whole way and definitely knows how to entertain! The water taxi was a lovely way to end the trek and cool down. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!!

5.00The guides and the whole experience was great. We got plenty of food which was really tasty. Be aware tho, you should be in good shape to do the two day hike.
