XXXX Brewery Tour
In Queensland, XXXX means beer, but how did this iconic brew get its name? Find out on a fun and fascinating 90-minute tour of the XXXX brewery. Your guide greets you in the brewery’s visitor center. Enjoy an introduction to the history of beer making, and learn some of the brewery's techniques. After your introduction, walk throughout the central parts of this historic site. Put on safety gear and check out the machinery that brews, stores and bottles beer. Most weekdays, you can enter the Packaging Hall to marvel at the state-of-the-art packaging line. Watch thousands of beer bottles whiz past you on a distribution line; most breweries don't allow you to get this close! Once you have delved into the inner workings of the brewery, get instruction on how to pour the perfect glass of beer in the XXXX Restaurant and Bar. Taste four freshly made brews with a new appreciation for the work that went into making the tasty beverage. After about an hour and a half your tour wraps up. Feel free to kick back in the bar and enjoy XXXX's legendary beers or visit the gift shop before making your way to your next destination.

5.00Decided to do this tour as weather was very wet in Brisbane and it was indoors!! Didn’t know what to expect but would thoroughly recommend!!! Takes about 1.5 hours and you get a tour around the working factory with information on how the beer is brewed and the history of Castlemaine XXXX…..it was very interesting and our guide was quite funny at parts! At the end you get to sample some of the beers which is a nice touch. We also opted for lunch option on our ticket and it was excellent - very tasty burgers & fries! All in all a good way to spend an afternoon….great value for money……

5.00We had a friend visiting from the UK. Took him on this tour to show him our Qld/ Brisbane icon. Booking it was easy. The tour was great. Zac our tour guide was incredible, friendly, funny and had so much knowledge. The production floor was closed when we went but it was still interesting. The beer tasting after was good. And lunch at the end was amazing. Great way to end a good tour. Definitely recommend this to anyone of legal age. They also had PPE, free lockers and shoes/ disposable socks for those who needed them.

1.00We assumed we were touring a working brewery. The entire brewing process was shut down It was a total waste of our time. Our tour guide told us how it was suppose to all work but didn’t get to see anything first hand

3.00Tour was very knowledgeable and Zack explained all facets of beer making. It was disappointing that there was no production working. I feel that when booking they should say which day the are in production.

5.00Really good guided tour with 3 small tastings. Fun to see a brewery while production was in progress. We subsequently ordered a burger with chips in their restaurant. Definitely recommended.

4.00It was an interesting tour. Ken, our guide, was great. It was a little disappointing that the production line wasn’t running, as it was a Saturday. I would have booked for a weekday if I’d known. The bar staff in the day were pretty ordinary. They didn’t seem particularly interested in the visitors.

4.00Lots of stairs. Interesting tour guide who has worked in many roles at the brewery so he knows his stuff.
