Fun day trip exploring and experiencing some key parts of Taiwan’s history. Our guide Joanne Lee was very knowledgeable and extremely pleasant. She made sure we got the best out of every stop and everything went on time.

The day was jam packed fun! Our tour guide Sophie was really funny and helpful. Pro tip: there’s going to be a several opportunities to pre-order drinks (like boba milk tea) and food (stuffed chicken wings). Say yes!

Sophie was a very informative guide with a great sense of humour and handled a mixed group well, communicating clearly throughout. I really enjoyed getting to see the different places and learn a bit about Taiwanese culture during my short stay here. I have a disability but the walking parts were very manageable.

The day was varied and fun. Yehliu is a beautiful geological formation and a great place to get some good snaps by the sea. Shifen is a nice place to do a lantern (I was skeptical as to the environmental impact, but they are recycled and, according to the tour guide, there has never been a bush fire from it). Jiufen was bustling and great to try tea and local snacks. Bring cash as no ATM accepted international credit cards. Dillian was the tour guide. She was friendly and knowledgeable.

We had a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide, Sunny, who clearly loves what she does. Yehliu Geopark was a bit disappointing - lots of similar-looking rock formations. Jiufen and Shifen were nice, but lacked traditional style buildings in favour of shopfronts selling everything a tourist could want. Our only real criticism is the driver clearly smoked on the bus whilst we were out, so the bus smelled of cigarette smoke, which was not pleasant.
