Enjoy a two hour cruise traversing the deep waters of Milford Sound, located in Fiordland. Your cruise will take you past St Anne’s lighthouse and out into the Tasman Sea. Informative guides point out scenic highlights along the way, such as the Bowen Falls (dropping 160 metres seaward), Sinbad Gully (a classic example of a hanging valley), snow-capped Mount Pembroke, and the awe-inspiring Mitre Peak itself, towering 1692 metres from the ocean floor.

5.00Really enjoyed the 2+ hour cruise on Milford Sound. The smaller boat seemed to get us up closer to the features of the Sound, including an exhilarating time getting a “glacial facial” near Stirling Falls. The bench seating on the upper deck may not have been the most comfortable, but not many people were actually sitting during the cruise. This is a Must Do.

5.00The Mitre Peak boats are smaller so we we able to experience it all up close. Great viewing areas. Just enough commentary to not interrupt the serenity. A fabulous cruise. Highly recommend.

5.00A scenic cruise past craggy mountains and high cliffs with waterfalls. If you are really lucky, you might see dolphins. Fantastic. There are different companies with cruises at different price points, trip lengths, and comfort levels. Mitre Peak is probably the cheapest but you should shop around. Parking is an issue—I paid big city prices at the paid lot and only found a spot because I arrived very early. Otherwise you might have to walk as much as half an hour. The drive to get there is also pretty amazing although it is probably better if unlike me you’re not the driver and can actually take your eyes off the road.

5.00Despite rainy weather, a great experience. Captain was terrific at guiding/narrating. Able to see pod of dolphins, seals and because of wet weather numerous waterfalls. The boat is smaller but plenty of room on board inside and outside.

5.00We had such a cool experience. It was our first time to Milford Sound. The cruise was the perfect amount of time, our skipper Kahurangi was very informative and a lot of fun. We were lucky enough to head out to sea and have dolphins swim and play by our boat. The glacial facial was 10/10. Thanks very much, Tracey & Tui
