We always try and use local companies when booking trips abroad and Sanguine Holidays did not disappoint! We are so happy we found them. Our trip was planned over several months and Nimisha was always quick to respond to our hundreds of questions and gave us honest feedback on the itinerary we suggested. On her advice we selected the 3 night tour with houseboat. The online payment system was very user friendly and far less complicated than some we had to use for other parts of our trip. Our driver Achu was great - at no point did we feel unsafe on the crazy roads with him. We spent many hours in the car and he always chose a really good spot for refreshments and shared lots of information about the local area and sights. The houseboat was a wonderful experience - just the 2 of us, our driver and our chef who looked after us so well. The food was magnificent! It was lovely meandering down the backwaters of Allepey and just watching the world go by. We then spent 2 nights in Munnar. Due to some dreadful weather and torrential rain some of the local roads had collapsed under landslides, but Achu always found a way to get us places although we did choose to forego some of the sightseeing and spend some extra time in our hotel instead. On our return journey we stopped to meet Nimisha - it was a lovely personal touch and so nice to be able to put a face to a name after dealing with her for so long. I wish all travel agents were as efficient as she was and would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone.

This trip is a must if you are visiting Kerala Backwaters! The boat was clean and comfortable and our crew (driver and cook) were first class. It was such a magical and serene experience sailing through the canals and I also recommend the smaller 1 hour trip to get through the smaller canals. The food was amazing and we had the best time!

The drive from Kochi to the Hill station was very long and if you suffer from travel sickness I would not recommend it. Very windy roads and slow and bad traffic. The pick up should have been 7.30am as my original booking and maybe the traffic would have been better. 9am too late. Hill Station accommodation excellent at Rivulet. Drive next day very slow and windy. Views lovely. Drive next day very bad again, should have set off earlier, say 6am. Backwaters lovely. Boat excellent. Kochi interesting. Driver was excellent, very sensible.

Our trip to Munnar, India, was an incredible experience, full of adventure, relaxation, and stunning scenery. One of the best parts of the trip was the freedom and flexibility we had, thanks to our private driver, Lal. It allowed us to explore the area at our own pace and really make the most of our time in this beautiful part of India. The Wild Elephant Jeep Safari was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Getting up close to these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat was absolutely breathtaking. The moment when we saw them drinking from the water was truly magical, and it felt like we were witnessing something rare and special. We also had the opportunity to experience some thrilling activities, like riding the zip line and taking a hot air balloon ride—both of which were unforgettable! The zip line offered a unique aerial view of the lush landscapes, and the hot air balloon ride gave us a peaceful and panoramic look at Munnar’s rolling hills and tea plantations. These experiences added an adventurous twist to our trip that we’ll never forget. Another standout part of our journey was the houseboat experience. We spent a relaxing day on the water with our private chef and driver, enjoying delicious meals and taking in the tranquility of the backwaters. It was the perfect way to unwind and soak up the beauty of the region. Of course, no trip to Munnar would be complete without a little pampering. We were able to enjoy some wonderful massages, which were the perfect way to recharge after all the exciting activities. Having Lal as our driver made it incredibly convenient to get to the spa and other attractions without any stress, allowing us to fully enjoy each experience without feeling rushed. Lal was incredibly patient, kind, and always ensured we were comfortable and safe during the trip. His flexibility in accommodating our requests, like taking extra stops or adjusting our schedule to fit in activities, made the experience even more enjoyable. Having him as our driver gave us the peace of mind to fully immerse ourselves in all the activities, from the jeep safari to the relaxing houseboat experience, without worrying about logistics. Overall, our time in Munnar was a perfect balance of adventure and relaxation. The activities we did—safari, houseboat, zip lining, and hot air ballooning—were all amazing, and having Lal as our driver made the trip even more seamless and enjoyable. If you’re looking for an adventure-filled yet peaceful getaway, Munnar is definitely the place to visit!

The hotel and boat trip were both excellent. Our driver Praveen was brilliant. The excursions were great but DO NOT take the option of the ELEPHANT RIDE or BATH... it is incredibly cruel, we paid 1800 rupees for the elephant bath, what we saw was a poor distressed elephant that was chained up between 4 trees, it's back legs were chained together so it couldn't even take a step forwards or back. It was clearly very depressed, the trainer used a bull-hook and shouted at it aggressively. We left feeling incredibly sad for the elephant and guilty/ashamed that we had stupidly paid money to these people to exploit this poor beautiful animal.

Thank you Sanguine Holidays for offering an amazing itinerary and seamless experience encompassing the beauty and culture of the region. The schedule was brimmed to the top with stunning sights and iconic spots, and had the perfect balance between adventure and relaxation. Also, if you are foodies like we are, the local delicacies and meals you will try throughout the trip are flavorful and absolutely delicious. Traveling with our driver Sumesh was great; he's kind, accommodating, drove very smoothly, and shared insightful facts about the region. We also adored working with Nimisha, who went above and beyond: she helped sort out accommodation upgrades and mid-trip currency conversions. It was a pleasure to have met her in person! Highly recommend this tour to see the gorgeous beauty of the Kerala and will certainly use Sanguine Holidays in the future!

Kerala was without a doubt a highlight of our India tour. Such a beautiful location with some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Having never been to India before we decided that using an organised tour through Sanguine would be a great way to pack everything in. The tour was fabulous. The communications and organisation from Sanguine was first class both pre arrival and throughout the tour. Jaison our driver and guide throughout the 4 days was fabulous, nothing was too much and he took every effort to ensure we had a great time. He stopped at beautiful locations, was only too happy to take pictures of us so we could bank our memories. He really made a great tour amazing. There were so many highlights. The tea plantations are truly amazing, and the work taken to pick them is mind blowing..... I'll never look at a teabag in the same way again! Watching the sunrise on a jeep tour was beautiful to see. Going to the national park is a really nice experience and chance to stretch the legs, the magical Nilgiri mountain goats are plentiful and super cute. A special mention must also go to the houseboat team. We were slightly nervous about this part, about the cleanliness and what sleeping on a boat would be like in India. It was fabulous, the crew were amazing and the boat was super clean and probably one of the best nights sleep we had in our trip! Honestly, looking back now at photo's from the tour brings back memories that will last a lifetime! A fabulous tour and one we would thoroughly recommend. Thank you to the Sanguine team, and a particular thank you to our friend Jaison!

The House Boat is not fancy, but is delightful. The disappointing thing is that a large group of boats left at the same time from Alleppey. As we headed down the river to the lake the pollution from all the boats was heavy. Quite a traffic jam. When we reached Lake Vembanad it was only a short cruise until we proceeded with a large crowd of boats (pollution again) to dock by a village in the backwaters. BUT the village was the regular docking location of all these boats - not a real opportunity to visit and see a village. I felt the people were very tired of seeing the tourists.
