  Great experience for those of us who had very limited time for Venice from Trieste. We were able to see everything that we wanted (even a gondola ride) and our guide, Anna, was very knowledgeable and helpful. Excellent on time organization 👍🏻

  *NOTES Venice Tour June 10, 2025* #1 Trieste Terminal Passeggeri Upon arrival, you'll be greeted warmly right at the cruise ship, setting the stage for an unforgettable journey. Your dedicated, professional driver will guide you, ensuring a smooth transition to the picturesque heart of the Italian countryside. As you make your way, soak in the tranquil beauty of Italy's landscapes, serving as the perfect introduction to your adventure. The journey, taking about 2.0 -2.5 hours, is set to be as enjoyable as the destination itself. 2-hours COMMENT: Our cruise ship pickup time was advertised on Viator for 7:30 am. We stood on the dock at 7:30. Our transportation did not depart for Venice until 8:45 am. Deliberate loss of 1-1/2 Hrs. Operator had no intention of making up the time on the backend. Driver spoke no English. Passengers were concerned already. #2 Tronchetto Upon finishing your journey, a warm greeting from our highly skilled and knowledgeable guide, who is certified in Venetian heritage and culture, awaits you. This guide is not just proficient in Venice's deep history and traditions but also eager to share the enthralling tales and hidden gems of this magical city with you. Prepare to dive into an extraordinary exploration of Venice, a place where stories lurk around every corner, guided by an aficionado whose expertise will turn your visit into an unforgettable experience. 20 minutes COMMENT: Arrived in Venice. The entire group stood on the sidewalk while arrangements were made for luggage to be secured for those guests who disembarked the ship. This caused additional loss of 1-Hr. An irate guest shared an email message with me from the operator promising the luggage would be locked in the vans. But the vans departed. They had other fares. The tour guide was exasperated by the luggage fiasco too as she pleaded on the phone for help. At least one guest(s) abandoned the tour at that moment. We never once had a boat journey on any canal! We scarcely saw a stray gondola pass by. #4 Basilica dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo (San Zanipolo) Immerse yourself in the magic of Venice by meandering through the Sestiere Castello district, where the grand Basilica dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo awaits, fondly referred to as San Zanipolo by those who call Venice home. Let its stunning beauty and elaborate details enchant you, leaving a lasting mark on your spirit. 20 minutes Free Admission COMMENT: Never entered the Basilica. #5 Ponte di Rialto As we proceed on our adventure, we'll be greeted by the magnificent Rialto Bridge, an architectural marvel that stands as a tribute to the rich heritage of Venice. Next, we will dive into the lively essence of the Rialto Market. For more than 700 years, this vibrant hub has been at the core of Venetian culinary traditions, presenting an array of fresh fruits, vegetables, and a plethora of local specialties. Whether you aim to experience the authentic flavors of Venice or gather delightful ingredients for an idyllic picnic, the welcoming vendors at the Rialto Market are often eager to offer samples of their premium products. This presents an ideal chance to relish the genuine taste of Venice and forge unforgettable experiences in this magical city. 20 minutes Free Admission COMMENT: Our guide did not even walk us over to view or photograph the Rialto Bridge as depicted in the Viator picture. Rather, she huddled us in a crowded sidewalk area off to the side where she droned away excessively, then led us away. Inexcusable. #6 Basilica di San Marco Admire the Basilica di San Marco, Venice's crown jewel, known natively as the Basilica Cattedrale Patriarcale di San Marco. This architectural wonder is the city's most majestic religious building. The awe-inspiring structure you see today boasts a fascinating history; it is the third iteration to occupy this historical site, with each successive building surpassing the magnificence of the one before it. 20 minutes Free Admission COMMENT: The expectation was for a 20-minute inside tour of the Basilica. Once again, our guide droned on outside. Never entered the Basilica. #7 Doge's Palace Discover the splendor of Doge's Palace, an architectural jewel that has been the cornerstone of Venice for more than a thousand years. This magnificent palace, steeped in rich history and stunning beauty, functioned as both the governmental hub and military command center, mirroring the significance of both the White House and Pentagon. Get ready to be enthralled by Doge's Palace, a standout attraction guaranteed to mesmerize and astonish all who explore it. 20 minutes Free Admission COMMENT: The expectation was for a 20-minute inside tour of Doge’s Palace. Again, our guide talked on and on outside. We never entered. #8 Piazza San Marco stands as the vibrant epicenter of Venice, embodying the city's heart and soul. Wrapped in the rich heritage of Venetian history and culture, this celebrated public square welcomes visitors worldwide into a living work of art. Famed for its stunning architecture and timeless charm, the piazza has enchanted visitors for generations. Napoleon Bonaparte, captivated by its unrivaled splendor, famously proclaimed Piazza San Marco as "the finest drawing room in Europe." A gem waiting to be discovered, it offers a mix of historical grandeur and lively urban energy. Visitors can immerse themselves in the atmosphere at their leisure or enhance their experience with an optional, magical gondola ride. 1 hour COMMENT: There were no bathroom breaks. Our guide abruptly abandoned us around 1-pm, giving us only 55 minutes to explore on own. 55 MINUTES? Nuts! Not enough time for our “magical gondola ride” which was our #1 must-do item. Not enough time to eat lunch. Not enough time for anything but to hunt for a bathroom in a chaotic sea of humanity on a huge square, without guidance. Horrible. 55 minutes later we were escorted to a ferry on a brisk walk by an assigned driver who was not a guide, then driven back to the ship, arriving 5 hours before the ship all-aboard deadline of 10PM, having seen only a fraction of the itinerary. We were kept in the dark. #9 Trieste Terminal Passeggeri After enjoying a wonderful day immersed in the exquisite delights of Venice, comfortably retreat to your awaiting ship with our cozy coach service. As the Venetian landscape fades into twilight, take a moment to reflect on the enchanting memories that will forever linger in your heart. Rely on our twenty years of experience in arranging seamless shore excursions, perfectly synchronized with your ship's schedule. COMMENT: Oh Pleeezz! Our tour started late and ended early! Our spirits were not enriched, but deflated. This was to be a once-in-a-lifetime trip. We did not get the excursion that we paid for, and we were delivered back to the ship far too early. Too many irredeemable inactions were made by this operator who seemed only interested in cutting costs by cutting the trip short from both ends without apology, adjustments, or compensation. No quality control whatsoever. A full refund is in order, but in no way will it cover our losses. We'll never be there again. In contrast, we had a 5-star experience on our Viator tour of the Vatican in Rome. These tours are "like a box of chocolates... you don't know what you're gonna get."

  Viator went beyond the call of duty to understand why we couldn’t meet up and ended up picking us up at our hotel almost 30 mins after meeting time. You have no idea how much this meant to us & how much we appreciated it!! Wonderful tour!!

  Everything about the tour was great! From picking us up in Trieste, getting us to Venice and back to the ship. The guide went above and beyond to get my father and I on a gondola ride. Thank you for this bucket list experience!!

  I booked a tour for Trieste Italy, but our cruise ship bypassed the port. I was disappointed to miss out on the experience, but I appreciate the prompt response and full refund.Great customer service! I hope to try again on my next visit.
