We start with a short drive to a village pond where you can spot Lesser Whistling-Ducks, Egrets, Herons, Moorhens, and more. On the way, we'll stop at a paddy field to see Lapwings, Kingfishers, Sparrows, and Bitterns. Then, we head to Langkawi's highest peak to observe Great Hornbills, Wreathed Hornbills, and other rainforest birds, with the Great Hornbill being the largest bird in Langkawi. Afterward, we return to the hotel.

Junglewalla is an excellent company - we had a small group of our guide and driver, and just three of us on the tour; the bird life is a real highlight of Langkawi and we were lucky enough to see all three types of hornbills (including the extraordinary great hornbills, feeding in a fruiting tree), kingfishers, bee-eaters and many other birds - excellent equipment, and our guide Masyi was so knowledgeable and helpful throughout!

We picked Jungle Walla for our birding trip to Langkawi based on our friends’ recommendation from their previous trips. It turned out to be such a great experience! We booked a 2D tour with their guide - Jien - who turned out to be a powerhouse of information not just of birds but of other details of the mangrove and the area. His astute knowledge of bird voicing helped establish quickly what we were looking for. With his help, we also found the difficult to track brown wing kingfisher among the mangrove. His driver - Din - was no less of a help, acting as a spotter for birds as well. We had a total count of almost over 60 birds which in itself a good return for our money as well. A wonderful experience I would highly recommend - it’s almost felt like going for a birding trip with a friend who just happens to know a lot of birds!

We saw so many birds, like different kinds of horn bills and king fishers and lots more. Our guide Lien made our experience extraordinary with his expert knowledge of birds. He took us to different biotops for maximum outcome when it comes to different species spotted. He was also responsive with our questions and interests. Last but not least he was very nice. We would strongly recommend this tour!

Jien ist an excellent and dedicated guide. He is a perfect team with the driver Din. They showed me so many different birds. Esgles, Kingfishers, Hornbills and many more.

This birdwatching tour was by far one of the highlights of our time in Langkawi. Our guide Jien was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about birds and nature. He was able to spot and identify an impressive number of species and explained everything in a way that was both informative and easy to understand. Since we didn’t bring a camera with us, Jien kindly took photos of the birds during the tour and later shared them with us, which we really appreciated. The pace of the tour was relaxed, the locations were beautiful and peaceful, and the whole experience felt very personal and special. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Langkawi, even if you’ve never done birdwatching before. Thank you again, Jien, for such an amazing experience!

I did the evening half-day bird watching tour for 56 euros, with 5 other people and really enjoyed it. Although it was very hot, which made it harder to see more birds, our guide, Jien, was truly amazing and despite the heat delivered a good birding experience, I saw 29 species of birds, the best ones being the White Throated Kingfisher, Collared Kingfisher, Chinese Pond Heron, Striated Heron, Great Hornbill and Oriental Pied Hornbill. The tour is well designed with 3 efficient different locations and our guide Jien is very friendly and knowledgeable about the different calls and birds. I would personally add more walking to the tour, but I understand that not everyone would agree with that. Would definitely recommend, regardless of birdwatching level, but I think the morning tour is better because it should be less hot and more bird activity.

Pick up right from the hotel and a nice early start. First stop was at a harbour and we saw a huge amount of bird life but also other wildlife including a huge monitor lizard. Another stop on gunang raya and we experienced a lit of great hornbill sightings which was a highlightfor sure. Our guide was very knowledgeable and could spot the bird life with a great deal of skill. Taught us so much and made sure that we could spot the birds she saw. Absolutely recommend this tour for bird and nature lovers alike.

I took the half day bird tour - I was lucky to be the only one on the tour so had a guide and driver to myself. Jien was the guide - he combined his studies in ecology/conservation with his local knowledge to provide a great tour. We visited two sites and saw at least 35 bird species, with a bonus sighting of a family of otters. Highlights were the hornbills and kingfishers, along with crested serpent eagle. Can’t wait to have a look at my photos. Thanks Jien for a fantastic introduction to the birds of Langkawi.

Love the experience with Junglewalla! Jien was our guide of the day, he has been really professional and knowledgeable! Even our Driver Din has been great and helpful. The whole experience was lovely, and the whole birding spotting/ shooting process was done at our own pace , we don’t feel being rushed. Would definitely engaged them again if I come back to Langkawi!
