We are a true Eco Tour company in the state of California using wagons and mules to tour an ancient wilderness. You will have to go to Colorado or Montana in the summer to do something like this. A truly unique western experience. Where can you take a wagon tour pulled by mules into the desert wilderness in the world? No where but here!
We are an authentic and unique desert tour that showcases the natural flora and fauna of the Palm Springs Desert ecosystem. Our live entertainment is professional and very enjoyable. We offer optional dancing lessons, games and great food. The most total inclusive and immersive desert experience in the Coachella Valley. Adventurous, educational, beautiful, unique, fun, delicious, happy, Hallmark Movie is what we have been described on our reviews! The good old days are still here at Covered Wagons!

Ride into a 30,000 acre Oasis Wilderness Preserve accessible and exclusive to Covered Wagons! Your on-board naturalist guide and Wagon Master Driver will entertain and educate you as we explore the rugged canyon landscapes, palm oases, flora & fauna and wildlife of this ancient Desert Wilderness created by the geological wonders of the San Andreas Fault. Your senses will be captivated as you travel through this ancient land that is as unchanged as when nature created it! A guided nature walk is included and optional. As you return to the ranch, enjoy watching the desert sunset sink over the San Jacinto Mountains from the best view in the Coachella Valley! Continue the evening playing horseshoes, roping and cornhole. Enjoy live western music, learn a barn dance, dine on fantastic BBQ, & Dessert that is included! 3.00Rain certainly dampened the experience - we didn’t get to do campfire/marshmallows/games. The wagon ride was quite short. The musicians were OK, but the pre-ride entertainment was super cheesy. The family enjoyed the food. Everyone was friendly. Would not choose to do it again.

4.00The coveted wagon didn’t go very far. Sadly my granddaughter age 9 was bored. The guide was great. Staff were wonderful. Food was just okay. My daughter enjoyed it but I had mixed feelings. Didn’t think it was worth the price to be truthful.

5.00What a great event! This is a fun and interesting adventure for the entire family. The wagon ride is informational and interesting. The live music, learning 2 line dances, the food, the staff, the setting - all fantastic. My son and I enjoyed every minute of this event and it was the highlight of our trip to Palm Springs. Thank you for a great time!

5.00We had a wonderful time at the covered wagon experience. It was as much about the music, games, and BBQ as it was the covered wagon ride to the oasis. I highly recommend it for families!

5.00My wife and I had a most wonderful evening at the covered wagon adventure and barbecue! We enjoyed the mule drawn wagon ride out to the unique California Palms area in the desert and then back for outdoor games and live music and a great barbecue dinner. It’s at a quiet location in the desert and was a very relaxing and peaceful experience. The staff was so helpful and friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We highly recommend it for someone who wants a pleasant experience and evening!

5.00My wife and I had a great time! Perfect date night activity. The venue is super clean, the wagon ride was fun and the oasis tour was very interesting. The live music was good and so was the rope and six shooter demo. The BBQ was delicious and the venue is beautiful at night. The staff are very friendly and the service is great. The wood fire is super romantic too. I have no negatives to mention and my wife loved it too!
