It is recommended to bring cash (the climb to the rock only accepts cash and Colombian pesos, 30,000 pesos per person ( 7 USD Aprox) ).
This tour/activity will have a maximum of 40 travelers
The order of the itinerary may change at the guide's discretion
Remember If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
We adhere to tourism law 300 for No Shows. If you do not arrive at the Meeting Point at the designated time or you do not consume/use the agreed upon services, there will be no refund.

Meet our tour guide at the chosen meeting point in Medellín and get ready to enjoy beautiful views during the two-hour drive from Medellín to La Piedra del Peñol for approx. 2 -hours. Here we'll spend 1.5-hour to give you more than enough time to climb the 742 stairs that take you to the summit to enjoy spectacular views of Lake Guatapé and the surrounding mountains.

1.00Unfortunately, our experience with this tour operator was very disappointing. My wife became ill and we were unable to attend the tour, but despite providing pharmacy receipts and a doctor’s note from home, they refused to issue a refund. They insisted on a local pharmacy note, which was an unrealistic requirement given the circumstances. It’s unfortunate that they showed no flexibility or empathy, especially toward returning customers. A little understanding would have gone a long way.

5.00Andres was my tour guide for the Guatapé day trip. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. The trip itself was fun. The breakfast spot was yummy and the lunch spot as well. The boat ride was my favorite though!

3.00The trip to Guatapé was overall good, but at 11 hours was too long. If I knew it would be that long I wouldn't have gone. The Guatapé rock was a nice climb and view, and walking the town was nice as well; however, the boat ride was a boring out and back (would have like to skip that). Just seeing the lake from the top of the rock was enough. Also, we stayed too long at the towns (the vendors sell most of the same things you get elsewhere). 2 hours could be cut from the tour.

5.00This trip was amazing!!!! Our guide did a great job and everything was beautiful. I highly recommend this tour. It was long because of the travel time but well worth it.
Carlos Carmona and his Guatape tour was truly extraordinary.

5.00We had an amazing day with Carlos, our lovely tour guide. He was well spoken, entertaining and told us the great history around Guatape. You can tell his passion about the area and Colombia itself. The tour was ran really smoothly from the basic yet tasty breakfast, to the hike up the La Piedra, the boat trip and to top it off the excellent Lunch followed by an even more informative walking tour hosted by Carlos himself. I would not have had it any other way. The only downside was the group was massive but I think every tour we saw going to Guatape was the same.

5.00I really enjoyed the excursion to Guatapé. The pace of our trip and meals were planned out well. Our tour guide Patricia was very helpful and made sure we all stayed together. The food was delicious and filling. I also liked the free time we had in the town to shop and take pictures. I would definitely recommend this excursion.

5.00A must do if you come to Medellin. Our tour guide Patricia was amazing. Freddy our driver was very nice. The tour departed on time. The food options were very good. Patricia is knowledgeable. We were lucky to have her.
Hesitant About the Climb But Was so Worth it!

5.00I was intimated by this experience as I have a bad knee and I wasn’t planning on doing the climb but friends that I met on the bus encouraged me to do it and motivated me all the way up! I’m so glad that I did it but I took my time. Once at the top it was worth the wait. Just make sure and take a bottle of water with you and sip it while you’re climbing. You can always get more once you’re at the top!
