Our knowledgeable crew is happy to share all the local knowledge concerning the surrounding nature and the history of the area.
You will be encouraged to participate in sailing if you wish to and even take the helm of our large yachts under the guidance and supervision of our professionals.
We will anchor in secluded bays at a minimum disturbance. Take your time and relax, just make sure that you grab a mask and dive in the crystal clear water.
Our organic, local fresh lunch served on board has been one more reason why our guests continue talking about our tours over and over again.

Our crew will meet at the Old Venetian port and welcome you on board, where you will be given a briefing about safety and boat handling. We set our sails and we are off to our destination,the beautiful Dia island. Dia is an uninhabited island, 7 nautical miles north of Heraklion and is protected by the Natura 2000 project because of its biodiversity. Our trip there lasts almost one hour. We set anchor on either Agios Georgios or Panagia bay (depending on the weather conditions), which are located on the south part of the island. Both coves are known for their green, crystal waters surrounded by the protected wildlife, like the medium sized “Falco Eleonorae” the lizard Podarcis erchardii schiebeli, the wild goat Capra Aegagrus Cretica and the monkseal Monachus monachus. For about one hour and a half, you will enjoy these beautiful water with swimming, snorkeling or sunbathing! Cool refreshments and seasonal fruit will accompany the fun! After your lunch and perhaps after a quick dive, we will set our sails back to Heraklion port. Have your cameras ready in case we spot some of our lovely mammal friends, the dolphins.

5.00We had a fabulous time today sailing with Altersail to the island of Dia off Heraklion, Greece. Several of us are on a cruise and came off the ship and were met by our driver who promptly delivered us to the boat in the old port of Keraklion. We were greeted warmly by the skipper Vag and staff and had s lovely afternoon of snorkeling and swimming in the beautiful sea off of Dia Island. They prepared a scrumptious souvlaki meal with salad, fruit and drinks. They had us back to the port at the time we asked and we made it back on the cruise ship well in time for our departure. I highly recommend this event for anyone wanting a relaxing and carefree day in Heraklion.

5.00Had a brilliant trip. The sailing itself was beautiful and relaxing, the staff were lovely and the water at Dia Island did not disappoint. It was crystal clear, lots of fish to see and just overall relaxing. Only SLIGHT criticism (and more of a 'me' problem) would be the boat ladder. Quite tricky getting in and out - in without dropping 4m in to the sea was hard, and pulling yourself out soaking wet on a vertical ladder with 4 narrow steps...not super easy. However as I said, more of a me issue and it did not dampen the experience. Would 100% recommend/do it again.

5.00Everything was super arranged and the contact with the company went well and clearly. We were picked up at our hotel, transfer was on time and neat. The boat trip was superb! The skipper gave information about the island on the way to Dia. Once at Dia a nice place to swim, snorkel and supping. On board had delicious snacks and a meal. Sunset was super beautiful! Transfer back to the hotel was also top arranged. Would definitely recommend this trip with AlterSail!
