5.00I’ve been coming to Essaouira for years, and when some friends came to visit, I wanted to plan something truly unique beyond the usual Medina and beach experience. The tour guides arranged a taxi to take us to the cascades, about a 45-minute drive south of Essaouira near Sidi Kaouki. Our driver dropped us along the highway where we met our guide, who led us on a scenic hike down to the cascades, which were absolutely beautiful. From there, he took us to a stunning overlook where we could see both the cascades and the point where the stream flows into the ocean, right beside towering sand dunes that looked like the Sahara. We climbed to the top of the dunes and watched the sun set over the Atlantic.As dusk fell, we walked down across the dunes to the beach and then over to a small beachfront cave where dinner had been set up. The setting was incredibly cozy and atmospheric. We enjoyed a delicious fish tagine while talking together as the stars slowly appeared overhead. It truly felt like a scene from Arabian Nights. After dinner, we made our way back to the taxi under moonlight. We highly recommend wearing good walking shoes and bringing a headlamp or making sure your phone is fully charged to use as a flashlight for the return walk. This was a magical, once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience and a perfect way to see a completely different side of the Essaouira region. Highly recommended.

The evening began with a gentle hike to the Sidi Mbarek waterfall, where the sound of rushing water mixed with birdsong created a magical atmosphere. As the sun started to set, we walked across golden sand dunes that seemed endless, glowing in shades of orange and pink. The highlight was the dinner: a traditional Moroccan meal served under the stars. The tea ceremony felt warm and welcoming, and the food was both authentic and delicious. What made it truly special was the hospitality — Youssef and his team shared stories about Berber culture, making us feel part of the community. This experience is perfect for couples, families, or anyone who wants to connect with nature and culture in a genuine way. It’s not just a tour, it’s a memory we’ll carry forever.

5.00Great experience. We started with a beautiful walk guided by Youssef. Then we arrived at the beach we attended sunset to finish with a great dinner in a cave with sea views, surrounded by candles. Simply magical!
