  I had originally booked another tour, and for whaever reason they cancelled on us last minute!! I was so lucky to get this tour bus, I cannot say enough positive words, and would do it again in a heartbeat! First - the sites were beautiful - shrines, nature, takahicho gorge. I had Emily as our tour guide, then, she arranged for me to have Zhuzhu as we had to get back to catch a shinkansen. She was also great! Fluent in 3 languages; Both guides made the tour fun and immensely enjoyable. They had recommendations for everything - including even the restaurants! They also went out of their way for the guests (the bus driver on Zhuzhu's bus the day we did our tour, was incredible (I had left something on the bus and he went out of his way to get it back to us).

  Our guide Sun was so enthusiastic and made the experience great. Very knowledgeable on the area and plenty of recommendations. Also the places were like nothing I've ever seen!

  It is a very good tour, very complete, the guide Helen was very friendly and spoke in perfect English. The places visited are also beautiful and well kept. In addition, thanks to Helen’s experience we could see the volcano even though it initially seemed that it would not be possible.   It was amazing very beautiful scenery. You could make it to the top of the mountain of the first shrine if you don't take the stairs but the path that runs beside it.

  Buyer beware - Don't think if you book this trip you will be going on the tour! As a solo traveller I booked this trip 12 days in advance of my trip to Fukuoka and was very excited about going on the boat on the gorge with lunch option. I paid the premium price for the more expensive trip. The evening before my trip (4-5pm) the company Gogoday Travel Service contacted me to inform me that there was no longer a place for me on the trip, even though it was confirmed, and they were either downgrading my trip for a partial refund to no boat/ lunch, or cancelling it altogether. I had no option either to change to another day as my only other day was booked up. When asking why they explained that they book the boat trip 14 days in advance, and that it had booked up. They had just not informed me of this until literally they evening before, though they had the information. So I had no option to book a different tour with another company, or to rearrange my schedule. No explanation was given, and I had to do the reduced tour or not go at all. I had the feeling that my place was given to someone else, and I was simply removed from the trip, perhaps because I am a solo traveller. I found this lack of organisation unbelievable, especially as I was very much looking forward to the tour. I will likely never be in Fukuoka agsin as it's very remote place for me to travel to. This was a very big disappointment and extremely unprofessional.

• More than just a boat ride!

  This tour was fantastic! Our guide, Emily was very professional as she spoke in both Chinese and English. Not only did she explain the usual guide narrative but she dove deeper into the history and some fun facts too. The lunch was delicious and quite fancy. Unexpected for a reasonably priced tour. The 30 min boat experience was perfect. Arrive early to the tour because that determines if you will have to split up as boats accommodates 3 people. It was nice that others didn't mind splitting up so my husband and I could ride the boat together. Be prepared for a long journey...it's approximately 3 hours each way but so worth the fun trip.

  First of all, the tour got updated during the 2 months since I booked and had additional options that I was not aware of and was unable to choose. In the end, we got to do majority of what we wanted to do so it worked out. However didn't appreciate all the updates and changes that were made to the tour without my knowledge. Second, it was very chaotic meeting the tour group and guide at Hakata Station. So many other tour companies/groups which makes the area very congested and also had a hard time finding our guide within between the same tour group guides. After the chaos in the morning, everything else went smoothly. I appreciate the rest stop break to use the bathroom and get some food. Also the lunch break. The sites we visited were all great and beautiful. The guide Kaku was excellent. He gave thorough explanations regarding the history and significance of each site we visited. He gave us a clear timeline of our day and provided us recs on when to get food or use the bathroom and all. He also provided food recommendations which were great after the tour ended. Takachiho is just gorge-ous and the shrines we visited were just surreal. Recommend this tour and hope the tour company can help develop a less chaotic process in gathering the group for departure.

  It was a great tour, Sun was a great guide! Very friendly and cheerful, taking care of all of us! The unfortunate side of trips when you want to see a lot - you don’t spend much time on each site. I didn’t mind that, and the three sites I saw were great! The gorge - I think it is worth taking the boat, but you would need to be good at it to avoid bumping into other boats. The food there (beef) was a nice experience and timely too. Generally the views are stunning there!! The volcano is also impressive - unless of course you have already seen volcanoes, then I guess it’s not do special. And finally the grass land - i was actually impressed by the tranquility of this place. Walked with horses there too - for me it was a best ending of the tour!!! For facts: it takes 3hrs to get to the locations from Fukuoka, and 1hr between gorge and volcano, so more than half of the time you will be on the bus. Sun, thank you!!

  Nice walks to Shrines, it is a long day for a short time at the Gorge which was my reason for going on the trip. Emily was good and group was punctual
