Access to Aso Volcano crater may be restricted due to the weather and itinerary will be adjusted on-site.

Takachiho boat rides are shared by 2–3 people per boat and may include other tour participants. The ride lasts about 30 minutes. Please follow safety instructions and avoid getting too close to the waterfalls.

This tour involves long drives and walking; comfortable shoes are recommended.

Mountain weather can change quickly. Please bring a raincoat or light jacket to stay comfortable.

We will email you the guide, driver, and meeting point details the night before your trip.

Please arrival at meeting point 15min in advance， and look for the guide holding a yellow flag（Gogoday travel) and give your name to join the group.

Aso, Takachiho Gorge features towering cliffs, the 17-meter Manai Waterfall, and three picturesque arched bridges spanning the canyon. Great full day tour. I’m glad I added the gorge, boat ride and lunch to the tour. That was the memorable highlight of the adventure. The gorge was beautiful, riding the boat was fun and the lunch was delicious! The Aso volcano was hard to see that day, it was freezing cold and the greenery was brown due to winter- no fault to the tour. The guide tried his best but was really better with mandarin than English. All in all I’d recommend this tour, it was with it.

This is an experience in nature. Fortunately the weather was good. I did not do the boat trip, cause old & unsteady, so small rowing boat was a nono. The Wagyu lunch was good, but the restaurant looked like a canteen, no atmosphere; something more traditional would be more appropriate, but presumably not available. The guide Cico was good & amusing. A good day out.

An excellent, very well planned and guided tour which exceeded my expectations. Emy was a fantastic guide fluent in English, Chinese and Japanese so the whole tour was seamless. The company also offers boat rides in the gorge which is a must and was the most magical part of my trip so far. I initially thought it would be all in Chinese but that was absolutely not the case with Emy as the guide.
