Pilanesberg National Park

As you approach the park, you'll feel your excitement growing as you anticipate the wildlife sightings that lie ahead. Once you arrive, you'll embark on a 5 hour open vehicle safari, allowing you to get up close and personal with the animals. Your experienced guide will be on hand to share their knowledge of the park's ecosystem and help you spot some of the park's famous residents, including elephants, lions, leopards, and more. Whilst on the safari, you'll be taken to a lodge where you'll have the opportunity to relax and enjoy 1 hour lunch. The lodge is surrounded by stunning views of the park.

The day trip was great - saw elephants, zebras, lions, hippos, giraffes, baboons, impalas and more. Jason was an excellent guide who provided lots of interesting conversation and information about South Africa during the drives to the park and back. He was also an excellent/cautious driver during some tough weather conditions with the storm that day. Would definitely recommend!

Great day at Pilanesberg National Park! Jason picked us up on time and provided a lot of interesting information on the way. The drive to and from the park passed by quickly and we were so happy that we got to see ALL of the animals we wanted to see at the park, plus a few more!

I decided to book Pilanesberg only one day before the scheduled tour, and my family and I had an incredible experience. Pilanesberg had it all, and more importantly, the experience was all inclusive, including direct pickup from our vacation home. Communication was stellar at all times.our friendly driver, Jason, made us feel right at home with excellent driving, hosting, and interesting information along the 3 hour drive to the reserve. The actual reserve was vast and incredible, I highly recommend doing the full day, our second half of the trip we saw 4 out of the big 5!! I did not expect that at all. Even when not seeing animals, the drive is gorgeous. Jason was right on time to meet us when the safari was over and indulged us taking a few more photos at base camp with no pressure. The drive home was seamless and relaxed. 11/10 experience. Embrace everything!

Seeing the many different animals, such as elephants, cheetahs, hippos, baboons and many others in their element. Amazed at how our driver, Elvis, was able to immediately identify the animals at a glance, even though they were so far away and usually only a silhouette. The scenery, driver and guide were amazing and deserve 5 stars. We are giving 4 stars as the lunch was terrible.

If you are a slightly nervous tourist but you want to have a safari experience while visiting Joberg - look no further! My husband and I had the best experience traveling from the Sandton area to Pilanesberg. We chose the closed car option because we were nervous about mishaps with the animals and mosquitos, and it ended up being the right choice for us. Jason was the nicest, most patient, and accommodating guide that you could ever ask for. He was knowledgeable and very respectful of the animals and the history of the city. The car was in excellent condition, he turned on the AC when we requested it, he had a cooler packed with tons of bottled water, and he pointed out places of interest and shared fun facts every step of the way. The Pilanesberg park is gorgeous and has tons of variety. We saw: Hippo, Zebra, Wildebeest, Kudu, Elephants, Fish eagle, Turtles, Crocodile, giraffe, and white rhino!!! You will regret it if you don’t go!
