After collecting you form your hotel or residence in Johannesburg between 06:00 – 06:30, we travel to the Pilanesberg Nature Park
We should arrive at Pilanesberg Park around 9am where we will then board and start our 1st open vehicle safari drive ( +- 3 hours) in search of the Animals that inhabit the National Park We will then have a short stop from 12 pm until 1 pm for lunch at Pilanebserg Center inside the middle of the park overlooking a beautiful waterhole . After Lunch we will depart on our 2nd Open Safari Drive (+-2 hours) we depart the park around 15h30 arriving back in Johannesburg between 17h30 to 18h00

Pilanesberg National Park
Visit Pilanesberg Game Reserve from Johannesburg for a full-day safari. The tour includes return transportation to the park and two 2.5-hour game drives with a highly qualified ranger in an open vehicle. On arrival your guide will take you on an exciting morning open 4x4 safari vehicle safari drive in search of the Animals that inhabit the National Park. Our guides are knowledgeable and will give you in depth information on the animal you are viewing and try their out-most to find the members of the Big 5.During the heat of the day you will enjoy lunch at one of the many rest camps in the National Park before departing on an afternoon open vehicle safari drive. Our vehicles depart the National Park between 15:30 – 16:00 in order to arrive back in Johannesburg before sunset.
Roughly 45 minutes' drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria, surrounded by the beautiful Magaliesberg mountain range, Hartbeespoort Dam, or Harties to locals, has become a hive of activity and is a very popular weekend getaway for the two cities.

5.00What an amazing experience! Doreen was our guide and she was fabulous ensuring we saw the big 5 and knowing where to go and how to get there. She was informative, approachable and very friendly. 100% would recommend the safari experience I think everyone even with other guides had a great experience. If you can get on the trip and you are lucky enough to also have Doreen you are in for a treat!

5.00Fantastic experience and would recommend this trip to anyone. From pick up to drop of everything was 5star. The food was very good and the driver Martin was very friendly and had a lot of information about the animals. We would come back for sure. It’s a big yes from us!

5.00This was a great experience to see these majestic animals in their natural habitat. Unfortunately we did not see any lion but it was a great experience and was able to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, and many other animals. the tour guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. the group was size was not adequate.

5.00Info about pick up time was send a few days in advance. Pick up from hotel was on time. Everything during the safari tour was as described and the lunch was good. We had a great day!

5.00I had an incredible experience on the Pilanesberg safari! From start to finish, everything was seamless, safe, and truly unforgettable. Our guide, Doreen, was absolutely phenomenal—knowledgeable, patient, and so passionate about the wildlife. She made the entire tour engaging and educational, pointing out animals I would’ve completely missed on my own and sharing great insights along the way. Our driver, Alex, was also fantastic. He was professional, friendly, and made the ride comfortable the whole way. I appreciated how smooth and safe the drive was, especially since it’s a long trip out to the reserve. The safari itself was breathtaking—so many animals, beautiful scenery, and plenty of time to take photos and enjoy the moment. This was hands-down one of the highlights of my Johannesburg trip. Highly recommend booking this tour, you’ll be in great hands with Doreen and Alex!
The trip was well paced and neither rushed nor bored, giving us plenty of time to take pictures and enjoy the view. The accommodation and dining were very satisfactory and the staff were attentive and comfortable. It's a highly recommended travel experience.

The natural scenery along the way is stunning, with magnificent grasslands and wildlife that make it seem like you're in a documentary. The guides are professional and enthusiastic, with detailed and interesting explanations, giving us a deeper understanding of the local culture and ecology

4.00Please go into this excursion with the knowledge that you are driving through a Safari not a zoo. Seeing animals (mainly the ferocious ones we love to witness) is not guaranteed. Our guide Triminate was excellent and has the most trained eyes I've ever seen. He spotted everything!!!! Even with this incredible eyesight, and his willingness to "chase" recent sightings, we mainly saw impalas, elephants, zebras, giraffes and rhinos. No cats! The experience with MoAfrika Tours, nonetheless, was great. Please note it takes. 2.5 hours to get there.

5.00I had an incredible full-day safari experience with MoAfrika Tours, and I want to give a very special thank you to our driver and especially to Petrus, our safari guide. He is an absolute genius! He made the whole day fun, engaging, and full of great stories. You can immediately feel how much he loves the park, nature, and the animals. Experiencing the safari with him was truly magical — I would repeat it a thousand times and recommend it even more! On the day of my tour, it started to rain, and MoAfrika provided us with super warm, high-quality rain jackets. I saw other safari companies passing by with guests wearing thin plastic ponchos, while ours had hoods, warm lining, and kept us completely comfortable. This made a huge difference and turned the trip into something phenomenal rather than uncomfortable. We had lunch in a beautiful spot with plenty of space to relax, walk around, and enjoy the landscape. The local food they served was delicious — proper plated meals with chicken, beef, pap (the local maize mash), salad, sauces, and drinks. Everything was excellent. From pickup to drop-off, MoAfrika was punctual, organized, and very attentive. All the drivers and guides were kind and professional. During the safari, Petrus was incredibly skilled at spotting animals. Thanks to him, we saw giraffes, elephants, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, iguanas, and even entire families of elephants. Of course, wildlife depends on the day and the weather, but our guide was so attentive that we had a truly unforgettable experience. I also appreciated that the tour includes proper stops to rest, go to the bathroom, stretch, and enjoy the surroundings — since it is 100% outdoors in real nature. Overall: a unique, fun, and memorable experience. MoAfrika Tours goes above and beyond, and Petrus made the day absolutely outstanding. Highly, highly recommended!
