This region has always been one of the biggest and one of the most beautiful parts of Azerbaijan! So, if you decide to visit other Azerbaijani cities, we highly recommend you to see Quba! Guba has been founded in the XV century and is located 165km to the north from Baku.

Khinaliq village is the most remote village among all others in Quba. It is also the highest village as it is located in the middle of Caucasian mountains. And this remoteness is exactly what helped the inhabitants of the village to survive from the invasions. The history of this village goes right back until the Albanian period. The remains of ancient caves of early humans are still left in this territory between the mountains. Due to its long history, Khinaliq village is considered one of the oldest inhabited places in the world and has been included in the UNESCO list of World Historical Monuments.

Besh Barmag Mountain

Just over an hour’s drive north-west of Baku along the Guba highway is a 382-metre high mountain whose bizarre shape long ago led to it being called Mt. Beshbarmag, which is Azerbaijani for ‘Five-finger Mountain’. Legend has it that sometime in the ancient past a prophet called Khidr ventured here in search of a ‘potion of life’ and having drunk from a spring at the summit achieved immortality. Today the mountain is shrouded in mystery with locals coming here to pray for strength and good fortune.

Our tour with this amazing guide was truly unforgettable! From the very first moment, she greeted us with a warm smile and a positive energy that made the whole experience feel personal and special. She was not just a guide, but a storyteller, a friend, and someone who clearly loves what she’s do. Throughout the trip, she shared fascinating facts about each place we visited not just the usual information, but real stories, traditions, and small local secrets that made everything come alive. Absolutely fantastic day trip deep diving into Azerbaijan culture and its many sides and mountains! We had the best guide Polad (Полад) with us, who shared interesting parts of the history (he even brought printed photos to show), and answered our many questions, he is so funny and professional guide! Mountains area is stunning, I'm glad I've chosen to explore this part of the country. The driver was very professional navigating those windy mountain roads, we appreciate him a lot, as well! There was no issues requesting many stops for photos along beautiful scenery, very thankful for this trip making me and my family happy! We learnt a lot!

The best excursion I’ve been on in Azerbaijan. The scenery is magnificent and breathtaking as you approach Xinaliq. The visit to the Candy Mountains was interesting but the color is not as flashy as some agency photos lead us to believe, but it’s worth a visit. We also visit the Jewish village of Quba, unfortunately the synagogues were closed. The route between Quba and Xinaliq is splendid. We make several stops to admire the panorama. We then take a walk in the village and have a hearty meal on site. Our guide Murad was very friendly and gave us many explanations about the sites we had visited and about his country, he also organized small games and quizzes during our trip to keep us awake -) He managed to create a superb atmosphere among the tourists of the group. Thanks to this ambience I even made a friendship with one of the tourists. I highly recommend this tour and if you are lucky enough to be with Murad your day will be perfect.

Beautiful day through less touristy Azerbaijan, crossing forests and canyons and visiting ancient villages such as Khinaliq, UNESCO World Heritage Site. Layla guided us with competence and sympathy, describing local history and customs. Very good and interesting the typical lunch prepared by a village family. Highly recommended!
