Climb inside Mud Volcano, in an amazing activity near to Cartagena in one of the world's smallest volcanos and enjoy a relaxing soak in the warm mud inside. Some locals say the mineral infused mud has healing properties and skin benefits which make you look and feel younger. After mud immerse with the help of a kind local who will rinse off the mud, it's optional but we recommend it because the mud remains can be uncomfortable. Get a delicious local snack than you can choose: arepa de huevo, empanada or carimañola and a soda. For this experience you'll be accompanied by a bilingual tour guide, that give you a interesting speech about volcano making your experience unforgettable throughout the journey. Massages, photos or mud-cleanse have an additional price around $2 USD. All native or local people make a living from MUD VOLCANO. We invite you for be part of the growth of a community and support a sustainable tourism.

Each traveler is allowed a maximum of (1) suitcase or carry-on bag. Do NOT allowed oversized or excessive luggage.
Valuables Security: Upon arrival at the volcano, please keep your valuables secure. We make the vehicle we travel in available as a safe space where all guests can leave their belongings. The vehicle will serve as your secure location.
Tipping and Local Community: The native community of this village relies solely on the commercial activity of the volcano. It is common for local residents to offer assistance with items you carry and subsequently ask for a tip. Tipping should be voluntary and at your discretion. To simplify the process and avoid solicitations, we highly recommend ascending the volcano without any personal items—just go in the clothes you intend to enter the mud with.
Massage and Exfoliation: Once inside the volcano, there are local individuals who offer massages. Please make it very clear if you do or do not want this massage and exfoliation service.
Cleaning Service: When exiting the volcano, a group of local women will offer to clean the mud off your body in a natural lake. If you do not wish to use this service, you are also welcome to clean yourself on your own.
Extra Costs: Please note that any assistance you receive, regardless of whether it is offered by the guide or not, will incur an extra cost.

5.00I had an incredible time on the Mud Volcano tour, and a huge part of that was thanks to Jose. From start to finish, he was friendly, fun, and super attentive. He made everyone feel relaxed and excited, explained everything clearly, and had great energy the entire time. Jose went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable — from guiding us up the volcano to helping us enjoy the mud bath and taking great photos. You can tell he really cares about giving people an unforgettable experience. If you’re thinking about doing the Mud Volcano tour, ask for Jose. He turned a unique activity into one of the absolute highlights of my trip.

5.00It was a super fun experience, so much better than expected. Josè and Jesus took us to the mud volcano. The local people who help you when you are there are also very friendly, and I absolutely recommend letting them help you take pictures and wash you becaue they know what they are doing, and mud can get in everywhere. Also I personally loved the massage. I know there were many people who weren't comfortable with them, but there wasn't any inappropriate touches, and honestly, Julio did a wonderful job, and I wanted it to last a little longer. Bring some cash to tip them. Josè told us to leave our belongings on the bus, and we tipped all the helpers as a group. $2 USD per helper is reasonable, according to Jose. I would have tipped them more, but I only had $20M pesos in cash, so that's how much I paid for the pictures, massage, storage (towel and shoes) and shower (in the river).
