Day tour to the beautiful city of Heidelberg, this historic old city on the Neckar is visited by millions of visitors from all over the world every year.

In our tour we will show you the famous castle in Heidelberg, which has a historical history. The whole structure, the castle and the courtyard are impressive with their ruins and their construction. The castle is several centuries old and offers a wonderful view of the city from its huge terrace. Here you can see one of the largest wine barrels in the world.

After the castle visit we will give you some private time and you can walk through the medieval center and visit the Renaissance Haus zum Ritter and the Heiliggeistkirche.

Heidelberg is a beautiful town and the Castle, a structure telling stories of history, romance, architecture, etc. My niece had met us for the tour, having taken it the year prior, and was excited to once again enjoy the experience Heidelberg has to offer. I treated my niece to the tour and we paid €140 each. Of course, I didn’t mention money because I was treating her. We were picked up in Frankfurt and taken by van to Heidelberg. This is the tour: Got out of the van and told to walk to a point to take pictures below of the town. We were to meet back at the entrance in 1/2 hour. We met and were taken to a courtyard where our director walked in front and faced that way. It was difficult to hear what he was saying, as we were behind. When people asked questions, there was no engagement and a hint of condescension in some of the responses. The one area where we were told a lot was in the religious significance of some of the architecture. It was interesting, but it was, in reality, the only in depth information shared about the castle. Once we got through the courtyard, we were directed to take a self tour through an apothecary, led to another outdoor area for pictures, and then told were were to meet back at the van at a certain time. Once again, left to our own exploration. Had it not been for my niece, I would have thought that was the way the tour was supposed to go. But remember, she had been there the year prior. She said that for €10, she and her husband came to the castle and were lead on a tour where they were immersed in the history of the castle. They went into eating halls and chapels and ballrooms, none of which we saw. She shared the history and romance of the occupants over decades. She told us that for the tour we were presently on, our guide took us to the entrance, the exit, nothing in between and basically gave us a 20 minute lecture on the religious significance of the architecture and nothing else. In addition, there was no tour of the town. We were dropped off and told to meet back in 90 minutes. So in the end, I definitely recommend visiting the lovely town, but take the tour that the castle provides.

The guide was focused entirely on the religious aspect of the castle. While not opposed to hearing the history of the castle as it relates to religion - there is so much more. We did not see very much of the castle. You would get a better tour booking a guide from the castle. And less expensive!

The city was lovely and the castle was nice to visit, but the best part of the tour was Michael and his knowledge of History. He made the tour very memorable!!!

A very interesting day. The castle has an amazing history and I enjoyed roaming around and checking out all the different nooks and crannies within its walls. Our guide, Michael, gave clear and detailed details as to the various historical periods portrayed by the different architecture. After the castle we went down to the old part and had time to roam the streets and the Christmas markets. I certainly enjoyed the day.

Guides were very good... informative.. and pleasant. On time.. however other guest did not arrive at pick up on time and we all waited. Would like more time in old Town to eat and be able to enjoy the town market. Michael was guide and he was extremely knowledgeable.. Steven was great.. enjoyable and helpful. Both care about their guest. .

Our tour guide and driver Michael was extremely knowledgeable and provided an extensive history of Europe on the drive to Heidelberg. Once at Heidelberg Castle we had some free time for photos then a tour of the ruins, the apothecary museum which was fascinating and the giant wine barrel. After the Castle we were dropped off in the old town close to the Christmas markets. We found some delicious food at the market and then walked around the old town which is lovely. We went to a cafe with a great cake and biscuit shop for a cup of hot chocolate and apple strudel. All in all an excellent day out full of interesting information and architecture.
