Chuson-ji Temple

Hiraizumi town is known for the Konjiki-do at Chusonji temple, a small gilded amida hall. The town is called the capital of Buddhism. Many temples influenced by the pure land philosophy are spotted in the town as well as many historic sites. The World Heritage consists of 5 sites; Chusonji temple, Motsuji temple, the ruins of Kanjizaio-in, the ruins of Muryoko-in, and Mt. Kinkei. All of the five sites constitute the land of Perfect Bliss. There are many other valuable temples and ruins besides World Heritage sites in Hiraizumi. Why don’t you come and see the land of Perfect Bliss?

Toshi Ozawa is a very dedicated guide and tried hard to accommodate my interest to visit all the important spots in Hiraizumi, such as Chusonji, Motsu-ji, and Gikeido. His suzzestion to use a day-pass of a bus was excellent. I enjoyed the trip and also I enjoyed conversation with him about his interesting experience in his youth. Overall, it was very satisfactory.

Our guide is toshi san. He is enthusiastic and good at sharing information. He brought many pamphlets for us which shows his good preparation. The temples and garden visit was interesting.

Coco was great. Gave us a fantastic tour of the city of Tokyo. We got to see temples, the emperor's Palace and quite a few other sites. She was very informative but not to the point of being over the top. She gave us enough information for us and was always more than willing and happy to answer questions.
