In a 60-minute hands-on session, craft your own custom Harris Tweed® handbag from scratch. Choose your bag's body color, select a unique Harris Tweed® cloth lid, and personalize it with decorative straps to match your style—be it bold and adventurous or timelessly classic. Guided by skilled instructors, you'll learn the construction process using provided tools, ensuring a rewarding experience.

Within your session, you will create your very own Islander Mini Satchel Handbag by selecting the body colour, choose your favourite Harris Tweed® cloth lid, bag strap and accessories. Once you have selected your different components, you will begin to construct your bag with a set of tools. The workshop class will last approx 60 minutes. Once you have completed your experience and created your bag, you cannot exchange the bag or request a refund. Min age we recommend to be 12 years old. You may change / cancel your booking 48 hours in advance. Workshop is on the first floor which is only accessible by stairs. Please get in touch prior to making your booking if you require any assistance. Customers will only have time to make 1 bag per person, per workshop session. If you would like to make more than 1 handbag, please book multiple time slots at different times. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate seating space or waiting space for additional guests, not participating in the workshop. Please arrive 5 minutes before your class start time to ensure you are ready and seated for the workshop beginning.

Lovely lady talked us through our bag construction. Good choice of base bags and satchels. Plenty Harris tweed colours. Mix and match any colours. Great for a special treat.

The host, Chris, was very fun (and funny) and made the whole experience a great time. Walked out with a beautiful Scots Tweed bag and great appreciation for the centuries of weaving!

Work shop was great fun with a very cosy atmosphere, perfect space for the amount of people upstairs. Not as many options as you see on the website were there in store. Price was fair for the work shop and the product you make and 60 minutes is plenty of time. Work shop staff was very lovely and attentive. However the shop underneaths staff was very rude with a quick temper and bad tone of voice while I tired to return a purchase after work shop, she snatched the item out of my hands and spoke with a very condescending tone.

Caitlyn walked us through putting our purse/backpack satchel together in a group and brought amazing energy to the experience. She was so nice, funny, and patient with the occasional dropped screw. There was also an awesome gentleman there who was working hard to make sure everything stayed supplied during our event! Highly recommend this as you can take a piece of Scotland back home with you. One thing to note-- book yourself in for the cheapest option (with a few exceptions for items they currently have limited amounts of-- you want to book those in advance) because when you get there you can upgrade (pay more) for the more expensive options, however they do not refund if you have paid for a higher costing item and choose a smaller one. They give you a store credit for accessories instead. This event was about an hour -- perfect amount of time. They have a cute cafe with purse examples on the shelves and a nice vibe and bathrooms onsite, and they don't overbook-- there was space for all of us at the table. Best for a fun activity while traveling or even just if you want one of their purses and want to make it special!

I had the best time! I wanted to stay and make another! Don’t worry about going alone, the staff and other workshop members were so friendly. Gill and Ellie were running our class and they were both phenomenal. There was a young woman next to me that was here last year and came back. I will absolutely come back the next time I’m in Edinburgh and will recommend to anyone I know visiting. Have fun!

The shop itself is quite small but very nice. A lot of options and excellent materials. Staff is very friendly. The workshop was excellent. Ellie and her colleague ( I am sorry but I do not remember her name) were very friendly and helpful. Making the bag is quite easy and fast, there are a lot of options despite some issues with stock. Very recommended.

Had a wonderful afternoon with friends at this workshop. Plenty of time to choose our own bespoke design items to make up the handbag to our own preferences. Jane was a lovely host, explained how the different tweeds were produced and helped out with her trusty screwdriver when we needed a bit of a hand! Well worth a visit.

Really enjoyed this bag making workshop in Edinburgh. Me and my friend did this activity for my birthday. It was great to see how popular this activity is as other people attending had travelled from all over the world to do it. Chris was our host and he was fab, checking all our screws and ensuring our bags were secure. You are provided with spare screws and a screwdriver to take away with you and I had no problems at the airport. My only feedback as a potential improvement would be to offer a longer shoulder strap, I like to wear my bag across my body.

My daughter selected this as an activity for her birthday and it did not disappoint. The staff were welcoming and clear on their instructions. The final product was lovely too. We all also loved the option to make different bags to suit our preferences. I would thoroughly recommend this for a family activity.
