Travel through the incredibly scenic Maligne Valley of Jasper National Park while searching for the abundant wildlife spotted frequently in the area. Important Note regarding Maligne Canyon Waterfalls: Due to damage caused by last summer’s wildfire, access to Maligne Canyon is currently closed by Parks Canada for infrastructure repairs to ensure visitor safety. If these repairs are not completed prior to your selected tour date, the short walk to view waterfalls in Maligne Canyon will not be possible. In this case, the tour will proceed with a slightly altered itinerary, offering alternative stops to showcase the area’s unique beauty. This includes a visit to Maligne Lookout, where you can view the dramatically changed landscape from a high vantage point, and additional time at Medicine Lake, featuring a short walk along the shore for stunning perspectives of the lake surrounded by towering limestone cliffs. Please rest assured that the tour length and price remain unchanged, and the overall experience will still provide incredible opportunities to explore and learn about the Maligne Valley’s natural wonders.

Perfect tour to explore the Jasper area Our Guide Sam with Maligne Adventures was amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area geology and wildlife and I learned a great deal during the day. We were picked up at our hotel on time and the trip went smoothly. The Maligne canyon hike was fairly easy walking and amazing to see the incredible effects of water on stone. The wildlife were somewhat elusive this day but we did get to see a family of Hoary marmots, big horned sheep and a large moose! It was early in the season so Maligne lake was still frozen but still beautiful. Sam also pointed out a large eagles nest and an osprey nest on our tour. Thanks for a great experience. I highly recommend this tour.

The tour was great! We saw black bears, eagles, elk and a marmot. The hike at Lake Maligne with our guide Emma was very cool. Emma is a biologist and is very informative about all the landscapes and animals. It’s a must do!
