Danger Charters is the only tour operator in Key West offering sailing excursions on a historic schooner into the remote backcountry of the National Wildlife Refuge. Our trips are truly small-group, with a max of around 20 guests, so you'll never feel crowded—whether you're snorkeling, kayaking, or relaxing on deck. On the Premium Day Trip, we often stop at a shallow sandbar, a guest favorite for swimming, wading, or just enjoying the view!

What really sets us apart is our crew. They're passionate about what they do, and it shows in the way they lead each activity, share local history, and give fun, informative eco talks. Whether you're brand new to snorkeling or a seasoned paddler, the crew offers guidance, support, and an easygoing atmosphere that makes everyone feel welcome.

This trip combines adventure, education, and laid-back sailing in one of the most beautiful and untouched parts of the Florida Keys.

This full-day sailing trip is the perfect way to explore the natural side of Key West—away from crowds and off the beaten path. You’ll board a historic schooner and sail into the Key West National Wildlife Refuge, a protected area only accessible by boat, known for clear water, mangrove islands, and marine life! You’ll snorkel over coral heads, kayak through mangrove channels, and relax on deck between activities. When conditions allow, we'll also stop at a shallow sandbar. All gear is provided, including sanitized snorkel equipment, flotation devices, and kayaks. The crew shares stories about Key West’s history and gives fun, informative eco talks throughout the day. No experience is needed—they guide and support all skill levels! Group size is limited to 20 guests for a more personal, spacious experience. This trip is family-friendly and great for all ages. Lunch is fresh and locally prepared, with salads from Fausto’s, sandwiches, fruit, chips and salsa, and hummus. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available on request. Restroom facilities are onboard. After the water activities, enjoy craft beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks during the sail back to Key West!

Loved the crew! We were canceled from the original full day charter. But at the last minute we were added to a half day. Micah and Katie were very helpful

Really had a great time. Sailing was beautiful, saw a sea turtle, multiple sharks, tons of amazing birds. Great food, very friendly people, helpful and kind staff. And the group was nice and small only 10 people. We definitely recommend this!

Excellent day!! Snorkelling on the fence is beautiful! We are not too numerous on the boat. The whole crew is very attentive. Few people also on the snorkeling spot so it was not the factory. Kayaking in the super nice mangrove also and the guide spotted us a turtle and a nurse shark!! Provider to recommend +++ We were disappointed not to speak better English because they give a lot of explanations about keys and fauna and flora and it seemed very interesting but we are a little limited 🙈😅 Thank you for a wonderful day!

Great experience and a GREAT value for the price. We set sail with Bible, Anthony, and Mary and had a lovely day. We learned a bit about the history of of Key West, snorkeled, and kayaked around mangroves where we saw plenty of fish, turtles, and even a nurse shark!

We enjoyed our day on the water with Captain Mary, Anthony and Bible! The crew was very service orientated and everything including check-in, the snorkel and kayak activities and food service was well organized and executed. We (family of four with two young adults) have been on similar excursions in more exotic locations—and this experience EXCEEDED our expectations in every way. Very happy we chose the small group excursion and would highly recommend.

We had a great time! The crew, Morgan and Mary, were amazing, and went out of their way to make sure everyone was having a good experience, including food, drinks, restrooms, and activities. For a full day event, that was really helpful having them in charge. When snorkeling and kayaking, we never felt rushed, and we were just always encouraged to have a good time. We travel a lot, so we've grown to be picky - Danger is top-notch!

We had a wonderful day. We thought it would be a tourist trap, but it wasn't at all. An old sailboat in very good condition, incredibly friendly, helpful, and cheerful staff. A high-quality cold buffet lunch with unlimited drinks. I highly recommend this experience. Go for it, you won't be disappointed.
