This tour was a major disappointment. The only redeeming part of the day was the Big Buddha—impressive and worth seeing—but that’s something you can easily do on your own without this tour. The stop at Tai O fishing village was completely underwhelming. It’s portrayed as charming and historic, but in reality, it felt run-down and depressing. There was nothing scenic or worthwhile about this part of the tour. It felt like a filler stop, not something worth your time. Lunch was advertised as a local experience, but it turned out to be a bland plate of noodles and a single fried roll—hardly satisfying or memorable. Worse still, the tour does not include the ride back to the hotel or even the meeting area. You’re left to figure it out on your own, and expected to pay out of pocket for the cable car back to downtown. For the price of this tour, that’s unacceptable. Honestly, you’re far better off just booking a round-trip cable car ticket yourself to see the Buddha. You’ll save time, money, and avoid a very lackluster experience.

A really well organised tour of the island including fishing village and the Big Buddha. Transportation well organised and a really enthusiastic guide with great local knowledge. Recommended for those keen to get out of the city and explore the island.
