Good Tour with Excellent Guides, Just Too Busy

4.00Rating this tour 4/5 stars. Not because the tour guides (Jimmy & Adnan), they were great! But because of the amount of people, tight space for viewing animals with the crowds and not a ton of wild life. Adnan was very friendly and we got to know him. He was great at spotting animals in the trees. Jimmy got the telescope on the animals for us to view. You really can't see many animals with your eyes, the best view is in the telescope and which is most of the photos you see on trip advisor. The guide takes photos with his phone and sends to you via WhatsApp after the tour. Manuel Antonio National Park sells out their tickets some days, we went on a "slow" day but it was still very busy. Think our group of about 15 and then 3 other tour groups trying to use the telescope to look at animals in the trees all in the same spot. The hike is very easy for all ages. You stop a lot to look at animals. It could have been a little faster. Some people on our tour were getting frustrated with how much we stopped and just wanted to get to the beach. We had a fruit plate half way through and iced tea before going to the beach. The beach we could do on our own for an hour and then walk back by ourselves to the park entrance. This was a good break after the slow going tour to the beach. The beach was packed. I suggest walking past the 1st beach area to the other side of the peninsula and setting up there. Although there's no bathrooms over there, there were no people and it was prettier. We did a guided tour in La Fortuna and that was better, more to see as far as the volcano/waterfalls etc. This was just animals and beach. I would suggest maybe a different park that isn't so crowded (if they have something like that) - maybe those boat tours? and a different separate beach. Tips: - Snacks are not allowed, the park will check all bags - Plastic water bottles not allowed. Bring a reusable one and you can refill on the hike at their water stations - Spray/aerosol sunscreen not allowed, bring lotion sunscreen - Sandals would be find for this tour, not difficult - Make sure to have WhatsApp to get the photos after

5.00We had a fun trip during the holiday season of 2025. We have 2 adults, one teen and one child in the group. We saw a lot of animals and learn a lot from the trip. The tour guy Paul is very knowledgeable and considerate.

5.00Our tour guide was Pool on a private tour of the park. He had a an excellent guide, clearly communicating and letting us see things that we would have not seen, but his practice easily identifies the plants, snakes, birds, butterflies, spiders, howler monkeys, etc. The pace was great and made the tour very enjoyable for my wife and I.
