If you stay in Taupo you must do this cruise. Chris our skipper was great, informative with a great sense of humour. It was fabulous to be on the water enjoying the peace and quiet. Could have spent all day out on the lake. Besides Chris there were only 8 of us and we managed a Titanic moment at the front of the boat, with some great company and great views of the carvings. One of the guests even managed a quick swim. A highlight of our trip to NZ. Thank you Chris.

Lloyd did a great job of pointing out safety measures and distributing ponchos during a brief rain shower en route to the destination. He shared his knowledge of the history of the carvings as well as Lake Taupo and town of Taupo. He was personable and engaged with all passengers.

Captain Lloyd was terrific! The boat is laid out so it's super comfy for all. It is the only way to go if you want a nice sail and no motors. It was a beautiful day on Lake Taupo. Highly recommend! Only thing was I thought the carvings were some ancient feat, but they were done in like the '70's or '90's (I forget what Capt. Lloyd said), regardless, it was a nice trip.

We started in a fresh breeze. The skipper told us that if it rained, there would be rain ponchos in the cabin. All passengers sat down on cushions on the roof of the cabin and off they went. Further down the bay, the wind and sea increased violently and rain came up. The boat lay on its side in the swell so that the sea washed over the railing. It was impossible to think of leaving the square and getting a poncho. In no time we were completely soaked and we became bitterly cold. We had to hold on tight because there were no fuses. I can't imagine how children or the elderly would have gotten through this safely. No straps. No life jackets. And a skipper who didn't give a damn about all that. Conclusion: msn must not trust a company that cares so much about guest safety.

This boat ride to see the beautiful lake Taupo and Maori carvings was fantastic. The boat was beautiful, very comfortable, and 100% electric / green which was a great way to experience the tranquility of the lake. The host was kind, knowledgeable, and funny, and he shared stories and facts about the surrounding area. The complimentary local beer was also delicious. We highly recommend going with this company over others in the marina if you want a relaxing, authentic way to experience the waters of Lake Taupo!

Guide is a genuine bloke who is a great chat, knows the area really well. Sail boat is gorgeous, had to talk myself out of buying one myself. Guide does everything in his power to ensure everyone is happy and comfortable including insulated padded ponchos, tea, coffee, toilet eg. Carvings themselves were great and it was just awesome to be out on the lake, havnt had that kind of peace in a while.
