Parque Nacional Monte Leon

On this unique adventure from El Calafate, travelers will enjoy an unforgettable day exploring Monte León National Park — the only park in Argentina that combines sea, coast, and steppe. The day begins early aboard a 4x4 Overland vehicle, crossing the Patagonian steppe and spotting native wildlife such as guanacos, rheas, and foxes. Upon arrival at the park, guests will take a walk among Magellanic penguins to a viewpoint overlooking the cliffs. Next, the journey continues by 4x4 along the trail leading to the iconic rock formation known as “Lion’s Head” and the sea lion colony, where these magnificent animals can be observed in their natural habitat. The excursion then proceeds to the Monte León Island viewpoint, home to large colonies of cormorants and seabirds. As the sun sets, the return journey begins, offering one last chance to admire the vast Patagonian landscape. A complete experience of nature, wildlife, and adventure in an extraordinary setting.

Excellent experience at all times. The decreserva service provided by Romina has been very good. The ride has been impressive and our guide, Cecilia, gave us a lot of useful information, as well as infecting us with her sympathy and professionalism. Everything worked as announced and on time. Highly recommended the Patagonia Cic service and this experience with sailing on the glacier!

The experience was magnificent, throughout the tour we got to know about the fauna of the area and finally we could reach the penguin and see the baby penguins, a lovely experience 🥰. The quality of the super good care, the guides were very friendly 😊

It was an amazing experience, although the weather was not the best, the guide took us to all the points of interest and explained everything in detail. Very good service. We must take into account that if it is many hours of travel but worth it.

For the first time I could see penguins up close! The tour was extraordinary, we saw many animals of different species, it really is an experience that must be lived!!! I was an amazing experience seeing all the wild life on the back road: we were the only people on this road with a big J jeep 4x4 - guanaco, fox, penguin, sea lion, horse, sheep, rabbit, condor, seagle and many other kinds of birds golgech (part of ostrich. We saw these wild life on high way and penguin and bird in Monte Leon.

We made 2 trips with Patagonia Chic: 1. Monte Leon and 2. Perito Moreno. Right from the start, communication with Mariana and the team via WhatsApp was excellent. All questions were answered very quickly and in great detail. During the airport transfer, the individual points were reviewed again together. The excursions were each conducted excellently: Vicky (Monte Leon) and Diana (Perito Moreno) are great guides who have carried out the tours with a lot of commitment and joy. We received a lot of information and felt very comfortable and safe on the rides. Packed lunches are very carefully addressed to food allergies. We would book Patagonia Chic again and again.

We had a great time with Juan leading the trip. It’s a long drive there and back, but the opportunity to see the steppe and penguins is worth it. The penguin walk is very cool, thousands of penguins. Some dead due to the puma practicing hunting and other natural causes but it really adds to the experience of a raw and natural argentine coast. It’s worth the haul if you appreciate nature and penguins!!!
