Plantation walk is a day tour. Those who are coming to Munnar can opt for this activity. This involves a maximum1- 2 hour walk through the Tea plantation and interaction with Tea Pluckers to learn the local culture of the people. Moreover this walk is good for heath in the form of breathing pure oxygen and peace of mind. It is a new attraction introduced by Lockhart Farm Tourism in Munnar. The objective of this unique programme is to give the tea lovers all around the world the unique experience of producing their own tea from the tea plant to the cup.

The Lockhart tea factory is famous for its Orthodox Tea produced in the traditional way. The museum includes a living factory which was built in 1936 and a tea sales outlet and tea-tasting sections. The visitors are given a briefing about the origins of tea for consumption, its history & health benefits and explained about the traditional tea manufacturing processes.

It was a very enlightening tour about traditional methods of plantation, processing and tea making. I would definitely recommend this tour.

We had a great time on this tour. The operators were very organized & meetup was easy. We had a lovely walk through the tea gardens learning all about the process of growing & harvesting tea, followed by a visit to a tea factory where we learned about the process of converting the fresh tea leaves to the final product. Very well run tour & incredibly informative. We were provided with some delicious brewed tea partway through our walk, & we finished with a tea tasting. The option to purchase tea manufactured at the estate was offered & we found it to be very reasonably priced.

We loved our tour through the tea fields with Mari! It was very informatie and fun! The factory part (which was not given by Mari) could have been a bit better as many times we could not hear the information properly.

This tour was so great. We had Raja as a guide and his enthusiasm for learning was amazing, we learned a lot off him about the tea plantation, the history of tea in India and in Kerala specifically. We had a lot of fun and Raja answered all of our questions. The tea tasting at the end in the factory was also very interesting. Definitely recommend!

Mari was an excellent tour guide. He was so knowledgeable about the process and history of tea. It was a genuine pleasure to be on this tour and learn from him.
