Skylon Tower
Begin your walking tour by meeting your expert guide at Skylon Tower. Along with the incredible views (and photo opportunities) you’ll be shown the Niagara Generating Stations supplying power to one-quarter of New York state along with the International Control Dam where water is diverted for use in the Station.
The Illumination Tower is located near the base of the Niagara River. Here, every evening at dusk, Niagara Falls is transformed into a multi-colored water and light masterpiece. Learn how the light show works as well as the famous figures who have walked this path before including British Royalty.

5.00Niagara Underground: Power Station and Tunnel Under Falls. Our tour guide Gord was awesome. He captured our attention with his humorous personality and involved us all by asking questions that made you think more about the history he was sharing. We went up to the Skylon's Observation Level first where he gave us some history of the river and then continued the walk to the Power Station sharing with us along the way. His part of the tour ends at the Power Station. Plan to spend a couple more hours inside the Power Station after the walk is finished. The self guided audio devices were long but so worth it and you could pick and choose which ones you wanted to listen to, but there is also a lot of printed information, artifacts, and pictures to see and read. After seeing and listening to everything on the main level we walked through the tunnel to the base of the Horseshoe Falls which in itself was an amazing site to see so plan on getting wet. This was an informative and fun tour.

5.00Our tour guide, Gordon, was extremely knowledgeable regarding the history of the falls and the mechanisms put in place to create energy, slow down erosion and manipulate the power of the water. At the Skylon tower, he explained how the water was slowed down, diverted, cleaned, channeled and dispersed to assist in the operation of the power station. His explanation helped in understanding how the power station works. He was personable, answering everyone's questions throughout the tour with a smile. It was a wonderful experience.

5.00Be prepared to walk. The view from the tower is great. The guide was amazing. Well worth the money. The view of the falls from the mouth of the tunnel was great.

5.00It was a great experience that put some of the top rated activities in one tour. Skylon Tower, the power station where you learn all about Nikolai Tesla and the underground tunnel where the water used to travel back to the river that now you can walk down to an observation area after a 2200 foot walk down the tunnel.
