What exactly is bioluminescence you might ask! Well, this is the capacity of some creatures to emit light and can be found in numerous forms in the Phang Nga Bay area. One of the most noteworthy instances is the bioluminescent plankton present in the bay’s waters. These tiny organisms emit a bright blue-green light when disturbed, producing a captivating appearance in the water. The phenomenon is caused by chemical reactions within the plankton, which produce light as a by-product.

5.00Lovely experience. Great staff! We went with friends and two small boys. They really enjoyed the scenery. We walked through caves. Played inside an open cave. There was canoeing and sight seeing. James Bond Island. Love Island. Most of all, there was a very special trip to a Muslim Village on the water where all the people on the boat played soccer on the floating soccer field with the villagers. We enjoyed a beautiful dinner with wonderful choices. Then we left at night to see the bioluminescent plankton. The moon was out, so we had to go nearby a cave in order to see the plankton. The staff were so helpful. They offered black shirts for us to use under the water to better see the plankton. It was magical. It wasn't what the image show, so don't expect the ocean to be lit up. But it was still magical. Overall, we really got a lot of out this trip. We did so many things. This is really worth it if you have an entire day to be taken around on a boat to see so many different things. Just to recap, we experienced, scenery, caves, canoeing, Muslim village, delicious dinner (though bring bug spray!!!), moonlight boat ride, and plankton--all with really wonderful, exceptionally friendly and helpful staff.

5.00Tour guide was very knowledgeable! We hit all the spots at the perfect time so there were no crowds. We practically had James Bond Island to ourselves. The dinner was delicious. Being able to see the bioluminescence made the whole trip! Would recommend booking.

2.00The whole excitement was about experiencing bio luminescence of phytoplankton, but the tour guide was asking the tourists options if we would like to see this even on a beach or in a cave. While I appreciate he gave us choice, but he should have taken the call based on the his local expertise to give the tourists the best experience. We all went to a dark cave to see this event and it was very disappointing.

5.00Although this doesn't start until the afternoon, it's still a long day from start to finish. Beautiful places, caves and of course the night swim in the bioluminescence. The guide and boat crew were great and so was the restaurant and food.
