  We had a fantastic afternoon aboard Seabird Sailing Excursions… The crew was absolutely fantastic and made the day a phenomenal experience for my family. Kuka, Gojito and Miguel the captain were very entertaining and were great hosts for the afternoon. It was one of the best experiences of our family vacation… I would highly recommend them to anyone who enjoys a beautiful afternoon on a fantastic boat.

  My girlfriend and I did the private sunset tour, which lasted about 4 hours and included some great snacks, drinks, snorkeling, beautiful views, and most importantly a wonderful crew. Pecho was our captain, and Kuka and Chebo the crew -- we couldn't think any more highly of them! Kind, caring, helpful - they truly checked all of the boxes and made our sunset tour so great. Outside of how great everyone was, we had an absolutely beautiful sunset. It was a perfect afternoon, and I'm happy to say we made new friends! Also a special shoutout to Eric and Leslea, the owners who helped set up and coordinate everything so seamlessly.

  We had a great time on an afternoon snorkel & sunset cruise. It ended up just being our family of 5, the boat owner, her son & then 3 crew members. You get into a water taxi from the beach so expect that you may get a little wet wading into the water. You step from the taxi onto the sailboat which may be a challenge for some individuals. We had no issue with this or the reverse process to get back to shore but may be good to know for those expecting to step on from a dock. The crew was incredibly nice. They brought us lots of drinks & provided delicious snacks. The ocean was beautiful & we had dolphin friends alongside our boat for much of the trip to the island. Because of a strong headwind, we were a little slower getting to the island than expected so we were a little rushed getting to snorkel & explore. Fortunately we had snorkeled before because instructions weren’t clear. There was a little communication issue there. Unfortunately it wasn’t very clear snorkeling so we didn’t see much. That wasn’t the highlight of the trip. The sunset was beautiful & it was a great trip., just not the best snorkeling.

  Our return to Guanacaste had to include a return trip on the Seabird. Eric, Captain, and crew were fantastic from the moment we boarded. The boat is comfortable and it was like a dream as we sailed to a spot for snorkeling and swimming. We came back to fresh snacks and of course any drink of our choice. Thank you Eric for hosting a wonderful day.

  Leslea and her crew took great care in making this a beautiful experience! We loved being on the water. While snorkeling, a sea turtle and a puffer fish were spotted. The food was delicious and the sunset unparalleled! We’d do this again in a heartbeat!

  

  

  

• A Memorable Afternoon

  We went on a private afternoon cruise yesterday and just fell in love with Sea Bird! From the snorkeling and drinks to the sailing and sunset, this classic sailboat and her crew helped create some great memories. From the time we got on the boat, Captain Valone made us feel at home with his friendly, relaxed demeanor. He explained right away what we would be doing and made us one of the boat's signature cocktails. We motored out of Coco at a comfortable pace and took in the views of Coco and Playa Hermosa. We passed a tiny island that looked just like a silhouette of a gorilla head, and eventually wound up in an area with a small beach and coral reef. He took us out snorkeling personally and showed us where the coral was, puffer fish, and a stingray! After that, we had some snacks and the sails went up. It was fun watching the captain and his first mate Melvin work together to hoist the sails. Never having been on a sailboat, we really enjoyed watching the process. The boat itself is older, but renovations are being made and I anticipate seeing the final results, as we will be back to see her and go sailing again. She's a beauty with great character, and her owner is putting a lot of love into her. Usually there are dolphins that like to play around the boat, and we enjoyed watching schools of fish leaping out of the water and also the birds on the hunt. We were lucky enough to get some clouds near the sun as it started to set, and we toasted with another signature cocktail, the "Tequila Sunset," as it went down. Coming back into Coco was beautiful, with the beach all it up with strings of light and the water appearing inky in the dusk.

  Booked a sunset cruise for a group of 8. It was great to work with the boat owner, Leslea, to plan a special afternoon/evening that included a marriage proposal. Crew were very accommodating and made sure we were having a good time. It was really a special evening. One of our guest unfortunately left a purse on the boat. It was quickly located and Leslea made a special effort to meet us the following morning with the purse.

  A little pricey, and the boat definitely needs some TLC, but we did have the whole boat to our party of four, like a private cruise!The local crew were very friendly and helpful. The wind was a bit strong initially so we motored up the bay to a beach, but not good snorkeling, shallow and murky. They need to find a good sheltered rocky snorkeling area. The winds died down approaching sunset and with a little encouragement to the captain, we had a good sail into the sunset on our way back. We enjoyed the sailing part the best ( the reason we chose this cruise). Overall a good afternoon on the water and some great sunset shots!

  Our group of 6 really enjoyed the private afternoon sunset cruise. Captain Andre and his crew member were great - very knowledgeable of the area and made sure we got to explore the area. This was worth the price and would highly recommend!
