Akrotiri Archaeological Site
Step back nearly 4,000 years of ancient Akrotiri on Santorini. Explore the well-preserved ruins of this one-time Minoan settlement, destroyed by a volcano in around 1450 BC. Inspect the excavated houses and buildings, see the remnants of kitchens and drainage systems, and read about the vivid frescoes that once graced the walls. Learn about the long-ago inhabitants, how their town was buried under ash, and how Minoan society and culture was far ahead of mainland European civilization at the time. Akrotiri, buried under volcanic ash in around 1450 BC. Walk along the main street. Past ruins of shops and houses, some once painted in colorful frescoes. 5.00A great comprehensive tour of all the major attractions on the island. The itinerary was perfect for a full day of adventure. Our guide Chris was very knowledgeable, friendly, and very attentive to our interests, questions and comfort. It was a fun day with lots of new adventures and amazing memories made.

5.00Thanos gave us all a wonderful tour of the island. From detailing the history of the island and showing us around beautiful photo op spots. Even gifted us some local grown honey at the end. From picking us up at the airport to dropping us off at the hotel we had an amazing time. 10/10 would recommend again.

5.00Chris is the man! Really took care of my grandmother and I and accommodating and patient of our walking abilities! He explained in good detail the island and each stop. Definitely worth it. We did a one day trip from Athens, flew in in the morning, and 4-5 hours you will see almost the whole island and main stops. Note that traveling in November vs summertime makes a big difference as traffic tourism lines for photos was not an issue in taking up time.
