Akrotiri Archaeological Site
Step back nearly 4,000 years of ancient Akrotiri on Santorini. Explore the well-preserved ruins of this one-time Minoan settlement, destroyed by a volcano in around 1450 BC. Inspect the excavated houses and buildings, see the remnants of kitchens and drainage systems, and read about the vivid frescoes that once graced the walls. Learn about the long-ago inhabitants, how their town was buried under ash, and how Minoan society and culture was far ahead of mainland European civilization at the time. Akrotiri, buried under volcanic ash in around 1450 BC. Walk along the main street. Past ruins of shops and houses, some once painted in colorful frescoes. 5.00Our Santorini tour was amazing. Chris our driver took us all over Santorini must see areas. At the same time he's our pro photographer for the whole trip. It was low season at that time. So we have all the visited places by ourselves. We learned many things about Santorini history. There's little traffic during the tour. So we got to finish our tour by 1pm. We were drop off at Fira for our lunch and we walk around that area. There was a carnival parade during that day. We got to see children and adults dress up like a cosplay. After lunch we were pickup by Chris then head straight to the airport. I highly recommend this private tour. No rush just pure fun.

Thanos toured us around the entire island like a local legend—zero stress, zero boring stops, all vibes. He took us to genuinely great restaurants, knew exactly where to go for the best views, and somehow made every drive feel like hanging out with a cool friend who just happens to know everything. Bonus points for his personality: super chill, funny, and effortlessly cool. He knows when to give you space and when to drop fun stories and tips. 5.00We did the private customized Santorini tour in a sedan this January; we had booked through Viator. We had an exceptional guide in Thanos! He reached out over WhatsApp the previous night to discuss customizing the tour. He got us to all corners of the island at a leisurely pace that we liked. Thanos was extremely knowledgeable to answer any question about various facets of the island such as its geology, history and the present; he is very friendly and engaging which made the tour a wonderful experience. He is a well-experienced traveler himself who could offer insights and comparisons from his own travels. He is also a good photographer who knew the right spots and angles and offered to take our group photos throughout the tour. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for more... he made our Santorini trip truly memorable. We would highly recommend Thanos and this tour company (Santorinian Collection) to anyone visiting the island.

5.00This was the best tour of our entire Greece trip. He picked us up on time in a very comfortable vehicle. He gave us lots of information and kept our kids engaged. He also takes great photos. I like guides on private tours that know when to step away and give you a moment to enjoy without interference. I would definitely use him again and will recommend him to friends for their Santorini experience.

5.00Thanos was our private tour guide for a day trip to Santorini and was very kind, helpful and made our trip even better! He showed us all the highlights of the island and great photo opportunities without ever feeling like we were rushed. He helped with taking our pictures and even got us local sweets to try! Would definitely come back to Santorini again with this tour company!
