  This excursion was breathtaking. The name of our boat was the ‘Sphinx’ which was iconic in and of itself. The crew was amazing, so helpful and kind the entire day. The food was delicious and the boat ride was smooth and safe. Special thank you to Ahmed! You encouraged me to try deep diving and you walked me through each step of the way to ease my fears, this was the first time I ever tried something like that and the things I saw were life changing. I will definitely be back! I already told my friends and family that this was one for the books! Thank you Sphinx crew!!!

• Disappointing snorkeling trip

  Unfortunately the weather was not so good making the sea very choppy, also very windy and cold. Because of this we couldn't go to white island and the snorkeling experience was quite dangerous. However, despite the weather and the very risky aspects to snorkeling, there were still lots of boats at the first snorkeling spot, too many to appreciate the reef as there were lots of people (divers and snorkellers) all jostling to get round the reef in very chopping waters. Ras Mohammed is a nature reserve but I didn't see anything, by the number of boats and general chaos and risk of the experience, that looks like it's an area of protection. Sadly I didn't really enjoy the snorkeling experience but the crew were very nice and we had a great buffet lunch. Overall not worth going and it's a great shame that no matter what the weather, conditions or sheer volume of boats and people, this so called nature reserve is not being protected. As the weather gets hotter throughout the year I can imagine the volume of boats and visitors to the area will increase.

  This tour was cancelled an hour before pickup time reason given was the Coastguard said it was unsafe.

  Fabulous trip, 2nd time we did this experience. Great if you fancy experiencing ur first scuba dive but weather this time was a bit windy so didn’t maximise the swim/snokel opps. Always an opportunity to have a private photo shoot at extra cost but if you get to go on White Island you will get some fabulous pictures. Some of the boats are dry though I.e. no alcohol served but I guess that might be a safety thing and I was assured that the dive instructors were very safety conscious and reassuring. All in all a good value for money trip, with transfers included and well organised.
