  Insightful tour covering the Golden Dutch period in 90minutes. We learned a lot from Max, he shared a lovely tour focussing on the right level of detail on the highlights. We really recommend to other travellers to book tours with art experts, its a great way to learn more about the art, the artists, the context snd the time period. More than you will ever pick up on your own! Max made it fun and he had great knowledge to share with us!

  The museum is impressive! The artwork and heritage truly reflect the Dutch “golden age”. The guide, Max, was outstanding!

  I booked this tour because I thought having someone knowledgeable explain the exhibits would maximize our experience at the Rijksmuseum. Sadly this wasn't the case. Paola provided some basic information on 5 or 6 paintings but it wasn't any more extensive than what I could have found online or that I could get for free by taking the virtual Rijksmuseum tour. I believe her background was more on architecture as opposed to art. Unfortunately, we were more interested in art rather than architecture. I know other people may prefer the architecture so the guide should either be proficient in both or customers need to be screened for where their interests lie. After explaining a little about the usual well known artists, i.e. Rembrandt, Vermeer, and a few others, we basically went through the other rooms by ourselves while Paola hovered nearby. She was very nice and very patient while we went through the rooms but I didn't pay over $300 for what was essentially an escort. You could get the same tour for 25 Euros through the museum itself.

  We had a 90 minute tour with Max and he was outstanding. We got a clear communication of exactly where to meet him. He proceeded to make sure we were comfortable and gave us a tour that started with some description of the museum itself just for context. We continued to the galleries and he really gave us insights into so many of the works of art. It was so much better than generic audio tours of museums that we’ve done before. He talked not only about the historical context of the art but also the technical aspects and even our emotional reactions to each piece. We really enjoyed the tour. You’d be lucky to have Max as a guide.

  Max is a wonderful guide, and his love of art truly shines through. Although we had only had a short visit due to our own time constraints, we thoroughly enjoyed what we saw and learned a lot. It is an amazing museum. Thank you, Max!

  Max was my guide, and he was wonderful. He is an artist and art teacher, and he showed me how to really look at a picture and not just glide by. He also taught me a lot about the Dutch school of painting and the intricacies of the building itself. Could not have been better unless it had been longer!

  Excellent tour of Rijksmuseum. Erin, our guide, was very knowledgeable about both the history of the museum itself as well a wonderful guide to the art. We took the three hour tour, 90 minutes would not have been at all fair to the building or the art. Learning the Dutch art styles was great. I have been to the museum on my own several times. Alone I missed all the nuances. I strongly recommend Erin and her tour. She is very outgoing, an expert, and was very attentive to our needs. Lots to see, very nice having a good guide to focus us.
