Accompanied by a professional, English-speaking guide, you’ll receive insightful commentary during the journey, providing essential historical context about the early years of the Nazi camp system.
Sachsenhausen, purpose-built in 1936, was the first concentration camp engineered to control and intimidate prisoners with chilling precision. Walk through the haunting remnants of this site and explore the old barracks, where the harrowing realities of daily life included forced labor, starvation, disease, torture, and death.
Visit the execution pit, a grim reminder of the unspeakable brutality endured by prisoners, where many were gassed, shot, or hanged by the SS guards. Very moving memorial and well organized tour. Our guide Peter was very knowledgeable and spent the entire bus ride there explaining the history of Hitler while pointing out different building/statutes etc in Berlin. He did a great job once at the camp as well taking us around and explaining all the exhibits. Highly recommend this company.

Ariel is a knowledgeable guide, he is a wealth of information on Nazi history. His pace is very good, especially in the cold! Ariel is a very engaging speaker as well, keeps you listening and paying attention. The Camp itself, is a difficult place to see in person. Seeing it in the cold and snow made it even more harrowing. Listening to how Sachsenhausen started is terrifying. History needs to be learned from unfortunately, it doesn’t look like we have learned anything!

I was unsure if I wanted to visit one of histories saddest sites, however my family wanted to go.On the outset our guide Hannah eased my apprehension. Her knowledge was remarkable and the delivery of that knowledge. On the trip I was going to ask her about her story as I could feel an underlying passion that I couldn't put my finger on. I felt angry at history and how human beings could be capable of committing these awful things but I felt nothing until the end and I really thought I would cry the whole way.Seeing the conditions and their survival or death was mind blowing something I am still processing. It was at the very end in Z block that I had a dreadful taste in my mouth like a metallic taste. I was not expecting that! On the way home Hannah continued to part her knowledge and it was in the closing of her tour I workout her story. I'm not going to spoil the ending alls I'll say is I cried. I would highly recommend the tour even if you aren't into horrible history, I have a greater understanding and I have kept reading more aboutit.

The host Joshua was very good and genuine in his descriptions and stories about his life and his job and of course the stories of the camp. It's a short tour, so just be mindful that it is an express type of tour, and you will only experience the main points and not have time to be close up with the stories of inmates (by reading about them in the museum's). Joshua most certainly did his best to give summaries in the time allowed. If you prefer a more in depth look, then just go yourself on the train (as opposed to easy access with a tour guide in a bus). I liked the tour, but wished it could be a bit longer.

Ariel was a fantastic guide. He met us early at the pickup point and told us where coffee and the nearest restroom was in case we needed it before the trip. We got in traffic on the way to the camp but Ariel made sure we still got to see everything that we could. He is very knowledgeable and answered every question the group had. Even though it was cold it was incredibly humbling trip. 10/10 would do this trip again!
