Seeing diverse sites the Cathedral, National Theater, the beautiful Central and Morazan parks will help you get to know the country and its rich history and from this experience, you'll have another sense taste to get more in tune with San Jose. For the end visit Mr. Sloth Coffee Shop where you will find gourmet coffees and chocolates, in this special place tasting and learn to prepare Cafe Chorreado, enjoy coffee tasting, tradicional caldosa, tamal cooked by local families and wrapped in a banana leaf, make your own plantain empanadas with cheese, try our famous Agua de Sapo make with ginger, sugar cane and lemon.

The tour guide was amazing — very knowledgeable and attentive. She knew vendors and was able to give us a feel for the pride they had. A well selected group of shops and markets to visit. Best way to spend midday in the city!

Oscar was AMAZING! He knew so much history and explained everything in so much detail. We started by walking around the main strip and local markets. He took us to this private area and cut up local fruits for us to try. Then we went into the central market and tried this DELICIOUS ice cream/sorbet. Then we continued the walk and listened to the history of the local buildings and government businesses. Ended the tour making sweet empanadas and fresh coffee - super cool! We also tried homemade tamales with pork! Overall a great experience and would recommend it to anyone traveling and want the local experience!

This was a lot of fun, and a great way to learn a bit about the history of Costa Rica and its food culture. Tasted lots of yummy things, not too much walking at all. Highly recommend!

Janpier was our tour guide and was absolutely amazing. He was very knowledgeable and we very much enjoyed learning some of the history of Costa Rica and the local treasures it had to offer. Eric at Mr Sloth Coffee shop was a gem of a human. Our group was late due to transportation issues from tamarindo. Eric gave detailed photos, videos and instructions on where we could meet up with the group to continue the tour. The coffee shop offered amazing drinks and food local to Costa Rica. We bought two bags of coffee and hope to be order directly once we return home. Highly recommend this tour.

5 out of 5. Our guide was great. He gave me a lot of excellent recommendations for restaurants and coffee shops. Ones that the locals know. It was long enough to fill an afternoon during my short stay in San Jose.

Just 24 hours in San Jose - this was a perfect way to catch a glimpse of the city and try some Costa Rican treats. Our guide was excellent- giving tips on visiting the city. All of the merchants were very friendly. Fun tour.

I can’t tell about the food tour but I can tell u about our ext. our Costa Rican drive got lost because of the address listed on the website. If the address would have stated that the start point was in front of the Banco de National we would have gotten there on time. Since we were late and knew the second stop on the tour was the Central Market we went there and looked for your group. Believe it or not I found them or I thought I did. The tour guide was from the same company but wouldn’t let us join her group but assured me she would call our guide. She told us to wait by the ice cream business. We did for 45 minutes and then just gave up SO DON’T BE LATE.
